The Celtics sweep the ECF winning three close games, go 12-2 in the playoffs, and yet are still catching flak for not winning by a wide enough margin. They also have a top-5 net rating all time in the playoffs. At this point, I don't even think they will get credit for winning a championship. The Cs losing both their regular season games to Denver was apparently a huge deal, yet no one is talking about how they cooked Dallas this year. I must be missing something.

As far as Kyrie, why would you possibly assume he's going to keep playing like this for another half decade? He's never stayed anywhere for long. He's had a ton of injuries. To think you're going to get 4-5 years of this version of Kyrie is insane.

It's like everyone suddenly has amnesia with regards to the regular season, and the occurrences there have been totally disregarded. Celtics mowed through this Dallas team by 28 points even in the second game.Tatum and Brown averaged 65 points, Tatum averaged 35 and so did Luca and JB averaged 30.Why all of a sudden are we making Dallas out to be this superior team to the Celtics.Celtics likewise got beat twice by Denver and there was no talk of Celtics being even on Denver's level. However, all of a sudden, teams that got torched by the Celtics duo are juggernauts? Lol I can't wait for the finals to start, so the narrative changes even though I know whichever team it is we'll still find a way to discredit the Celtics.

Agree 100%. And nobody is talking about how the hell Luka And Kyrie are gonna guard anyone on the Celtics??!! Tatum and Brown kan each drop 40 or 50. White and Holiday are the best defensive backcourt in the league and can lock down anyone and still give you 20 to 30 points on offense. The Mavs don't match up well with Boston. 0-2 against them this year.

You can’t compare reg season results. Denver beat Min 3-0 and lost the series. OKC lost and were the 1st seed. Celtics are scary, but not invincible

If actual basketball works like fantasy basketball, you are 100 % right... But, that convincing Boston win was at the end of a four game road trip, while coach Kidd was still trying to mesh the new players (current starters Washington and Gafford) with the rest of the rotation players remaining. The Mavs directly after the allstar break had an absymal 2-7 streak. Afterwards this 'new' Mavs team emerged, with a far better defensive focus, new rotations etc. That team went 16-2 until not competing in the last two losses of the season, having secured a playoff spot. Alas, Dallas has still to qualify for the finals, which might depend on the health of a certain rookie backup center.

@@exilhamburger4802 I agree with that. Dallas will be a tough series. The thing about these Celtics is they play in a way that leaves me scratching my head sometimes but in the end they have played 96 games this year and have lost 20 times. They just don’t lose that often.

I think ESPN's got two great pods. I love Windy, Bontemps & Banned MacMahon's more anecdotal and light-hearted approach and Lowe's deep dives/general passion is a great listen.

Mike Brown had a bad year. Hes afraid to make changes. He ran offense more through sabonis in 4th quarters when they have a closer in fox. He refuses to not play barnes at the 4. Keon ellis made team much better, Brown never tried it when huerter was struggling. Alex Len had by far their best plus minus almost never saw the court. The team was-better with sabonis off the court for whole year. Sabonis is a good player gotta adapt lineups around him.

Are you still going with the tested thing with Boston? Boston has been fine throughout the playoff run. Coming back from behind in 3 of the last 4 games isn't enough? Hasn't Boston been the best team all year long? Didn't they beat both of these teams already? Isn't their Defense MARKEDLY BETTER than anyone left?

I think people really don’t remember that out of the 5 conference finals trips the Celtics been on in past 7 years the only one they loss as the favorite was last year when they almost came back from 0-3. Other than that it was 2 lebron L’s where we had no shot going into the series(Tatum n brown led us to a game 7 somehow lol). One was young Tatum vs good heat in bubble, the other we beat the heat in 2022 and we loss to them last year. So when u look back at it the only “surprising” loss was to the heat of last year. They’ve been just extremely ahead of schedule and are punished for it

He will attack Luka all night long. I don't know why the Wolves haven't made a more concerted effort to force Luka into switches, but then again they only have Ant who can go off the dribble effectively. The Celtics have Tatum, JB, White, and Jrue. Completely different beast.

Well celtics should win. The mavs have the best player but the celtics have by far the best team. The mavs have 2 all stars, the Celtics have 5. If the mavs just had a true 3rd option, like Paul George, then they would sweep that Celtics team. This season we were just hoping to make some noise in the playoffs considering we missed it last year but we have some assets to try and trade for the final piece and we easily win next year.

27:15 You are not getting anything close to 4-5 more years of Kyrie and Luka. They both have terrible knees. Kyrie almost died from the screws in his knees giving him an infection that required a stem from his bicep to heart for antibiotics around the same time his grandfather died, but that won’t show up in your report. Luka’s knee is being drained before every game from inflammation and him being overweight as well. Yes, he does have a weight problem. Why you think Michael Finley snatched that beer out his hands after the game.

Not sure about that! If the Mavs keep, for example, Lively out for the rest of the series out of an abundance of caution and the Mavs lose without him, which unfortunately is quite possible, it might help the long term health of Lively (concussions, which hasn't been diagnosed so far, are a mean thing...). Personally I am hoping Lively is healthy enough to play again and continue his amazing run as a rookie!

Luka is better than Hali and Donovan but those mismatches were definitely worse for horford than Luka. Luka takes advantage of smaller/weaker defenders and defenders with bad posititioning. Al's weakness is his speed but he has good positioning. If they play Al in a drop Luka will pick it apart with lobs all day but switching Al onto Luka would probably be his best shot. Might still kill him because Luka is that good but Luka not having the speed of those other guards you could be more willing to switch Al onto him to avoid getting killed in a drop

Worst case scenario for the Celtics is the wolves come back and make history. The level of confidence this would give the wolves would be unprecedented. Best case for Celtics wolves take it to game 7 and Dallas wins in the final minutes. This will rock Dallas confidence, demoralize them to an extent and run the team down so they only have 2 days rest

The Jays are both prideful, and they are used to being iso stars themselves, so I could see them falling into a trap with the Mavs. If they end up trying to go back and forth on isos with Ky and Luka they will lose. They can’t get drawn into that type of play. They have the better team, not the better stars. So they have to use that to their advantage. That’s my 2 cents.
