Жыл бұрынThis film-based animation movie open was used by NBC in the late 1970s. This particular example was recorded in 1977 on a Sony SL-7200 Betamax. Voiceover is by NBC west coast staff announcer Don Stanley.
Sidenote: At the time this was recording, network audio distribution was done via phone lines, which limited the high-end frequency response to a lowly 5 kHz.

As far as I can remember, the NBC Late Show Night Movie was only on the weekend. I don’t recall NBC ever having late movies on weekdays.

From 1977 to 1984, The NBC Late Night Movie typically aired on Sundays at 1130 PM ET with no other late movie airing. Probably because NBC had a great lineup the other days of the week. The Tonight Show and the Tomorrow Show Monday-Friday, The Midnight Hour and Friday Night Videos on Fridays and Saturday Night Live and SCTV on Saturdays.

I wish I knew. I believe it must be custom music created for NBC - would love to hear the master tape.

@@VPR2B it might have been composed by Howard Shore, who at the time was the band leader for another NBC Show that aired at 11:30 on Saturdays called Saturday Night Live which was a Lorne Michaels creation.
