You need to really see what books are being protested. Even Luke warm agnostics much less good Catholics would be offended by most of these. Also some of them ( like 1619 project) are not historically accurate and promote racial division with their CRT view points. It not banning books or censorship for schools and libraries to refuse to use tax dollars on books that are inappropriate for school age students or are historically inaccurate. Those that think these books are for their families can buy them with their own money.

My apologies, but what’s the point of love if it only acts to inflate the egos of already terrible human beings who smugly laugh when kids are shot and killed? We seriously need to acknowledge the truth: Love is reserved for good people, including young and impressionable kids who deserve to live long and happy lives. The issue? I believe it is the stubbornness of people mixed with this demanding and violent nature they’ve grown accustomed to because of recent political events. And because of said stubbornness, people don’t care if schools are actively suffering the ramifications of gun violence. Because of a select few and their stubbornness, YOU and your kids you take under your wing are forced to suffer. And that’s just the painful truth. This isn’t even like a lot of people. At most it’s like 10-15% who cause the problems that the rest of us have to clean up. Because of those at most 10-15%, we’ve already had more than 400 mass shootings this year, and that’s a number from a month ago. What’s the point of loving those people if all they do is complain about communism while leading people to their deaths? Be what they deserve. Not what they want or need. Let them learn the hard way you can’t just be violent and expect respect. Be good to your kids, force these bad people to stand on their own. Let them make themselves useful for once. They wanna be free to cause pain and suffering? I think WW3 is just around the corner, and they’ll be first in line to die on a battlefield. They’ll come begging all they can, but don’t give them that satisfaction. Let them learn how the world works the hard way, and teach them the most valuable lesson: that freedom ain’t free, respect ain’t free and trust certainly isn’t free either. Honor and love your kids and your loved ones, live your life, be a good person, and do the best you can to live. Don’t give the awful crazy crowd the opportunity to drag you and yours down to their level, because that’s highly disrespectful to you and yours. Having dignity is probably one of the most important forms of respect, because dignity isn’t just self-respect but the capacity to stand for yourself and yours. You fail to have dignity, it isn’t just yourself that you’re disrespecting, but your loved ones.

I am non-American and my country is a developing country or “third world country”. I never heard our school board banning books about race or gender. Seriously, what are republicans AFRAID of?

Well, I’m convinced the GOP WANTS to live in a third world country reminiscent of the Moral Orel animated series. The books aren't banned, they are age and topic inappropriate for young kids. There is wonderful children's lit that Inspires high ideals, good character and hope. Books about blow jobs and gender confusion don't fall under education no matter how a kid identifies. Leave that topic to parents and trained school psychologists. Why would a teacher choose debased and banal books when books rich in language and art and inspiration are in abundance?

Look at the video 2:25 -2:30 These are the students from her class. She was a High School teacher. The only thing wrong with that book is that it was meant for primary kids, and she gave it to a teen-ager who was struggling with their identity - and the father said the kid came out as trans before the teacher offered the book suggestion. This is a teacher going above and beyond, and she earned an award for being a great teacher, and now she's gone.

Why would they be uncomfortable? Why would any student be uncomfortable in her class? If it's because someone else told them she was LGBT, and they are bigots, then no, I don't have sympathy for them. They need to be in that class to interact with her and find out for themselves that LGBT people are just people, and not monsters.
