Pros: Keeps eyes down field Athletic Feels pressure in the pocket Decisive when the pocket breaks down. Cons: Under throws receivers at time Sloppy footwork Way more positives, hope he has success at the next level.

Reminds me of someone…..someone who either under threw or over threw deep balls and back shoulder passes, yeah he has an arm for wide open crossing routes but if it’s him only, don’t be the jets, get a bag and start filling in roster. Hate this but we all need to be patient, 20 year coach with full control of everyone and everything just for the boot, now the process begins

I see a lot of throws where the receiver has to slow up for the ball because it's a little underthrown. This MIGHT be intentional as a "SAFE" throw. He appears better in the red zone. Some shots right in there, some overthrows with receivers making amazing catches. I mean, he's making plays. 🤷‍♂️

One thing I noticed watching this and other clips, is he hesitates and looks too long at where he’s going to throw. These things can be fixed. it’s a good thing his receivers were good. but what I like is that he can throw semi accurately on the move. Mac couldn’t.

Not all the passes, just some of them, for example 1:17 and 2:05 were good deep balls, while the receiver was running Maye showed good arm strength, but as you say for example in the second 0:35 and 0:57 the throws did not have enough power, so he has to improve that, as well as his mechanics and footwork.

I think Jayden daniels has the best chance to have the best rookie season. Drake maye is 21 I really think he should sit a year he could be scary in the future but I wouldnt rush him. Caleb has the most talent but he is going to chicago and for some reason Chicago just ruins QBs and im inclined to believe Caleb in chicago wont work. and JJ Mcarthy is the wild card is he special or a fraud that will be another exciting young blue chip qb to watch.

@whoismillie1 I don't know too much about Maye either, but I'm worried if the Commanders pick him at #2...would he be able to handle a bad O-line (speaking as a WSH fan lol)? Like would he be able to scramble 50+ yards in a game or would that be better suited for Jayden Daniels? Because pocket passing has not been a thing that WSH allows their QBs in the past 😔 Daniels gives me prime RGIII vibes just from the highlights I've seen.

Horribly untrue (Pats fan) but I’m also pretty good at this scouting stuff, Drake Maye is the most NFL ready QB that has or will be drafted this year, every single QB who’s even been drafted is a “project” but Drake’s processing skills, arm talent, & mobility is very similar to that of Justin Herbert/Josh Allen coming out of college, he’s only 21 the youngest QB by over two years then everybody else but yet is years ahead when it comes to “natural” decisions, each one of his weaknesses are EASILY fixable during camp & during the season with the right coaching, problem is UNC is not a big “football” school so their QB coaches aren’t the most qualified, tho Drake Maye was a 5 star (98 point) ranked QB with offers from Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Michigan, & Ohio State (to name the biggest) tho chose to stay at UNC cause it’s where his family went to college (his dad played QB there, his brother was a star on the basketball team)! What you’re witnessing is another Justin Herbert (not as much hype because of the school) as compared to the other “big names” but is seemingly overqualified compared to the other big names! Alex Van Pelt is a good OC & should whip Drake into shape in no time You likely have two options: Most likely: He sits for a year, & is bridged under Jacoby Brissett Possible but least likely: He beats Jacoby out at training camp & really shows he can be a day 1 starter Regardless he will be the starting QB next year

This dude is nasty, quick release, suberb pocket presence and decent footwork. Rocket arm not to mention the off platform throws and touch. Please MN trade up to 3 and take this dude. Qb will be set and forget for 15 years.

He has many skills and strengths but he needs to show better consistency in the NFL, he needs to work on the fact that sometimes he throws an accurate pass with power and sometimes that same pass takes a long time to arrive, he also needs to keep working on how he moves his feet, he is certainly not an immediate starter but under a good tutor he can continue to develop.

Overrated. Receivers were wide open on a lot of these. He played in the ACC. he will not live up the the Brad's and chads hype like McCorckle.. what he did in these games he won't be able to do in the league. Only time will tell..

If WSH picks Jayden over Maye.. im gonna laugh. If they cant draft Caleb.. Maye is the only other QB drafting in the 1st rd imo. He has all the tools... he knows when and how to slide. He is pretty shifty in the pocket. He uses the pump fake. He scans BOTH sides of the field and reads his progressions... Caleb and Maye are THE ONLY 2 qbs in the draft that can actually scan both sides of the field and goes through their progression. He is big and has a good arm. WSH BETTER draft Maye.. he is HIM.

we need to take a step back here. look at the big picture. this is a WEAK quarterback class. don’t get hamstrung for the next 3-4 years by a mediocre QB. take a flyer on a 2nd or 3rd rounder and watch next year’s class. this is a multi-year rebuild, no need to rush the most important position
