I live in the town where this starts. I have rode The Dragon many a times and been to a many mototcycle wrecks on there but still its fun to ride.

Heading here next week and doing The Dragon on a Harley Street Glide first time ever!! Looking forward to it and just hoping for some good weather!!

I've got a Harley buddy I was raised with and hadn't seen in 40 years. He's been all over the U.S. and Canada as far as riding goes. The Dragon was part of it but he says of all the roads he's ridden, the worst one is good old Highway 64. There you go.

The "318 curves" part is a myth that was started YEARS ago... depending on how you count... (my way)...there is a 100- 125ish... some count every lil squiggle and it makes a lil over 200. 318 curves in 11 miles would equal an apex every 60 yards on average... and one could hardly ever get out of 2nd gear. Just look at the map shown on the website and count. .. better yet.. ride it and have your passenger count em ( driver should concentrate on driving). Still... it is a great place to visit.. a nice road to ride.. with a lot of blind curves so STAY on your side of the yellow lines... and pull over at the many spots if you are holding up more skilled (or foolish) riders/drivers. Rides are best if LEOs are not handing out tickets like candy as they sometimes do. They changed the speed limit to 30 mph...which might be fine for cars but a lil silly for bikes. Regardless... ride safe!!.

I've heard a lot about it and would love to see it. But not sure what the big deal is? Theres roads like it all over in Oregon where I live now.

Bikers think they own the road. No wonder 99% of crashes and fatalities are bikers.
