Have ridden close to 60,000MI on the NC700X and on the road I have never needed to use the tool kit(mine is just like yours). you will find a flat tip on the other end of the phillips driver and the plastic thingy is the fuse puller, which you will find forward of the battery. The only glitch I ever had was when riding home after buying the second NC in Denver, the instrument backlight went dark a few times. The bike had been sitting for a couple of years and had a dead battery. All works fine now after 2 years and 32000MI. The best thing about this bike is many people have bought them hoping they were some kind of powerhouse of a bike, only to find a low revving, quiet high saddled bike that none of their HD friends would respect. Now those bikes are coming out of the back of the shed and hitting craigslist at under 4 grand. some having less than 5000MI. Hallelujah.

Lol... It's interesting you returning to blog after 6 years. The bike is great, it's used to be one of my favorite not anymore as I like more kinda aggressive bikes now. Good review, to the point. BTW, you two are cute together. Good bless both of you. Ride safe and enjoy the nc.

Great Video, I have watched a lot of videos on this bike, I think yours has answer the most questions I have on this bike. Sounds like you got a pretty good deal on it too.

Yep, a helmet lock cable, a double ended screwdriver shaft, the handle for that screwdriver, and the fuse puller are all you get in that pouch. That is what I got with my new from the dealer NC700X. I have added some tools, but not much fits in that small pouch. The most important that I added was a needle-nose plier to pull nails from my tire, a radial tire repair kit (repair plugs and insertion tool), C02 cartridges for an air supply for tires, the adaptor to attach C02 to the tire valve, and a cheap pencil type tire pressure gauge. The tire tools and a small adjustable wrench (mainly to tighten mirrors) are stored under the rear seat. After having two flats on my rear tire, I would never go anywhere without the tire repair tools! Good review! I love my NC, just wish it was shaft drive.

just a few thoughts, written as I watch- -Excellent that you are showing features that Honda doesn't, like how the storage works -put an old sock around that visor! -I keep my insurance and registration in my helmet, not on my bike Will look into getting the side luggage option for my 2016, if I ever see one.

Do you happen to know which color your topcase rear carrier is? I'm looking to buy one for my '15 NC750s. There seem to be 2 color options: Mat Altair Silver Metallic (D70) and Mat Bullet Silver (D30). These 2 names are very confusing, one color is more dark/black.

I bought a 2012 brand new down in Mandeville Louisiana for 4,200. It did not have the side bags or trunk in the back but I love it!!! There are more tools that came with mine though! LOL Rode it from Louisiana to Concord NC for the first trip, 800 miles! It did great! Stopped in Alabama to check out the Barber Park Motorcycle Museum! I highly recomend it! Lots of awesome motorcycles!!!

There's plenty of lowering kits and A CBR600 F4i shock with stock dog bones will lower it about 1/2 an inch or more and than just move the from forks down the same relative amount to fix the geometry and i could try it with a 29 inch inseam.

I am 5'10" and can just barely flat foot when wearing my boots with thick soles, with other shoes I cannot flat foot, but that is OK; FLAT FOOTING IS NOT NECESSARY! Just lean the bike a little to the left when stopping, put down your left foot, and that is all you need. You can keep your right foot on the brake if you want. So many people seem to make a big deal out of flat footing when it is not necessary. Maybe they are beginners who don't know any better.

@Skel3tor1
@Skel3tor1 9 жыл бұрын
There are some NC700X models that use the DCT, but mine is not automatic. My personal feelings on the matter is if you want automatic, get a scooter. I enjoy shifting up and down through the gears. :)

ok thx and I'm only 16 so I'm just getting started on riding and is shifting hard to learn? Skel3tor1
@Skel3tor1
@Skel3tor1 9 жыл бұрын
kelvin sun Awesome being 16! That was a fun time. Shifting at first will be something you actually have to think about when you do it. After a little while, it'll be second nature. You'll just have to practice. Shifting on a motorcycle is done with the left hand and left foot. The left hand pulls the clutch in, which removes power to the rear wheel, and then your left foot is used to shift up or down. Most bikes will have either 5 or 6 gears and the gear pattern looks like 1-N-2-3-4-5 for instance. Neutral is generally harder to get into than 2nd, which is on purpose because you don't want to go into neutral when shifting from 1st to 2nd. After your left foot changes the gear, then with the left hand you let the clutch out. So, it's just something that requires a little practice. If you ever drive a stick in a car, it's the same deal, except left foot will utilize the clutch on the floor (to the left of the brake), and the right hand shifts the gear using the gear shifter. Case in point, learning how to shift will help with both four wheeled vehicles as well as motorcycles. :)

ok thx for the response and last question, do i need to get my drivers permit before i ca get my motorcycle license? Skel3tor1
@Skel3tor1
@Skel3tor1 9 жыл бұрын
kelvin sun I'm not sure what state you live in so you'll have to do some research. If you Google up the name of your state and Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or Driver Services or Licensing services, you should get something to pull up for you to start searching. I can tell that you with Georgia, I was able to legally ride my motorcycle (Class M License) before I had a Class C license (trucks/cars) at 16. Georgia requires teenage drivers with a learner's permit to get 40 hours of practice and hold their permit for a year and a day before they can get their Class C license. My dad figured out this loophole that I would be able to ride a motorcycle and bypass the year and a day requirement so I was able to start a job quicker. Unfortunately, we moved down to Georgia right before my sophomore year so I was behind my peers with obtaining a learner's permit for cars/trucks.

beaggyboy I appreciate your feedback. While I can't go back and solve the problem with the wind I'll look into a windsock as I didn't know about that, nor did I anticipate it being so windy during the recording. :). I can however add some annotations to the video where the wind makes it difficult to understand what I'm saying.
