This defense needs more big hitters if you're going to play as aggressive as you have been lately. Northwestern's unstoppable on the ground because nobody can make tackles.

That game was painful. I can forgive the offense, but dear god the defense. On the play 2 man under try to put the safeties in yellow zones. They dinked and dunked on you all game. Plus doing that MAY help the run defense. Honestly we'd all rather see you get beat deep than have them do that to you all game! What the hell is Doug Ducket's catching ratings!?

I don't understand why you should pick either side of the ball in this contest. They were both horrendous and nobody left a good note out on that field. But I don't think this one game should be over-valued they played very good in the last few weeks so if those performances din't pile on it should be alright.

27superyankees He's a young corner. Redshirt him a year and he will have 78 or so man coverage as a freshman redshirt. That's a really good starting spot, as he will probably blossom into around 90 towards the end of his four years.

Cane you should think about making your new recruit an OLB. He really lacks coverage ability for a secondary player but I think he would really excel at the 2nd level of the defense. Very fast, good tackling for a freshman, decent coverage for a LB and it's not like you couldn't use better Pass Coverage on your defense. Of course it also depends on your make up of the team is and what positions have detph and what not but you should keep in mind that Boyd has the ability to play both postions. I personally like him better at OLB then safety.

The defense was bad today, but it's not as bad as it looked. Northwestern ran the option a lot, that play is broken as HELL.

I'd try to customize your playbooks more. Especially on defense. I use a big hybrid set, mostly use 3-3-5 variations, along with two sets from 4-3, good amount of 3-4 sets, and Nickel, and for 3rd and long I use Quarters.

When you recruit focus on big hitting line backers and coverage defensive backs but on the defensive line just focus on run stopping defensive tackles :-)

for the aggressive style of defense too work all you need is a few corners who can press well. it doesn't really even matter what their other ratings are because they'll stop them at the line allowing time for your blitz to come in. and honestly cane, we would rather you get beat deep every now and then rather than get dink and dunked on ALL game. also something you should be focused on is a good start and scoring your first drive because all the games that you've started well you've won.

After it looked like Nelson had really hit his stride with his best career game, this was actually painful to watch. Let down by his O-line massively and some bad drops, but still a painful game.

Use your adjustments so u contain the qb on the read option so u dont get torn apart there

Looking at this I recommend man to man defense like I run with Colorado and we are in the 3rd season and are 5-0 running man to man.

you need to recruit a defensive 'IT' factor something that can help the defensive hugely like a fast linebacker (Luke Kuechly like player)

That was a weird pass interference call. It was called on McDonald who was on the other side of the field who was not even in the play.

On that play where the offense got pass interference it's because he couldn't block him like that since it was supposed to be a screen behind the line of scrimmage. Good call by the refs. He run/screen blocked and that isn't legal.

Man, when you play a team that runs a lot of option or has a QB that likes to run. RUN QB SPY. I REPEAT RUN QB SPY. also mix in some blitzes and it works pretty well at shutting down the option.

If that happens, it's probably an Illegal Man Downfield penalty, but since that isn't in the game, they call it as Pass Interference. At least, that's what I call it when an O-Lineman is called for OPI.

hurricane, you aren't beating teams with nelson's "scrambling ability" maybe 5 or 6 yards here and there. Lots of mistakes are made like missing recievers and sacks because you (general people) tend to focus more on scrambling. Nelson can't throw as well as liehner (?) so roll with him and your pass game with improve/be more consistent in the key plays like 3rd and long

Was it me or was the commentary lifeless today? I guess it was fitting for they way he played. A lot of zone defense and he's curious why the passing lanes are so open? Consistently throwing short of the chains on 3rd and 4th down? Where was the run game? Something that has been successful all year? Idk how much they paid you throw the game Cane but hope it was worth it lol
