Totally understand wanting to have Colbert in with the game on the line... however, with 4 minutes left in a tie game I'd argue that you would have been better off going with the Warren-lead option offense to kill clock - especially since it had been so successful throughout the game. I am really happy Kalispell was able to pull out this one despite the turnovers. We looked raw, which is to be expected. The potential for this year is sky high. Low-key the Warhawks gonna have their best season yet.

To me, it is pretty clear that Warren is going to be the superior option on offense. Especially in the red zone. Maybe use Warren in 3rd and longs or other obvious passing situations, but Warren should be the primary guy with the option attack being the primary offense.

Justin Colbert, however, seemed to shine when the pressure was put squarely on his shoulders, while Brandon Warren had an instant impact with his legs and strong arm. It remains to be seen which of the two will separate from each other. None of the running backs made a noticeable impact in today's game, with Kyle Thomas getting most of the carries and only getting one long run over 20, while Troy Lee had some tough runs today. Ultimately, this game left Kalispell with more question than answers. They'll look to answer some of them next week in their home opener vs Minnesota.

You should play Warren more in the red zone. The reason why you have Colbert is to stretch the field. In the red zone, you need to be able to run on a short field.

This game got me thinking. How many times has Cane finished with a positive turnover diff in a season? Also what's the highest/lowest its been? Wonder if he keeps notes on these things?

To me, the pick in the fourth quarter by Colbert was entirely on ball placement. But the first two could've been avoided as other options were open on the field. Interested to see how he'll play in the future. Great video as always Cane

Marcus Payne lacks the burst of a good punt returner. Perhaps Belafonte could take over all kick returns, or give Troy Lee a chance because of his 99 acceleration?

Also you might want to run a jet sweep with warren getting the handoff

I've watched this back a few times now, And Amante Jones was WIDE OPEN almost all game. Many of these situations were on plays where Colbert threw interceptions, checkdowns or Incompletions

Well, if you're going to throw 4 ints a game you might as well start Warren so you have better options than throwing forced into coverage.

I'd say that actually felt like a pretty realistic exciting season opener. This offense should be effective if they can avoid the turnovers and drops that showed today.

Warren has a shot to win the Heisman with the combo of rushing yards passing yards and receiving yards he can rack up this year

Imagine if you wouldn’t have waited until the receiver was covered to throw those first and third picks. And imagine if you didn’t throw it to a receiver with two guys on him while there was a receiver wide open underneath on that second pick. And imagine if the fourth pick’s pass wasn’t pushed up field and allowed the receiver to run a flat route.

Full rotation of the running backs when you use the option. And go Split slot and use the triple option LT play. It’s very deadly especially with Warren, Thomas, and Lee. Speed kills

Two things: On Colbert’s 2nd pick, you had a shallow cross open on the left side. A defender did start drifting that way right before you threw, but there was a man open who could’ve gotten a few yards or maybe even the 1st. Now I’ll admit I’m not one to necessarily critique interceptions because I throw a TON when I play due to bad decisions, but I’ve noticed that the shallow cross in particular is a route you tend to not throw to even when it’s open. It’s a safe play to check it down on that route rather than force it when pressure is getting there. And secondly, you said you play to use Colbert as your red zone and goal-to-go QB over Warren. For a passing situation, I agree with. Passing windows are going to be tighter in that area of the field, so naturally, the more accurately QB is the best option. But I would definitely consider giving Warren his fair share of red zone opportunities. Option and QB Power can be deadly down on the goal line, especially if you find the RBs are struggling to make it work. Just a few things I noticed and thought of. Love the videos, Cane. Keep up the good work.

Let's Go! Finally here!! Jean-Charles....3 times, he was wide open gotta live with them check downs sometimes. Would like to see you use him more in the offense. Defense played okay besides of the long ball at the end, offense put them in some bad spots with the turnovers but nevertheless bring on week 2!

Never noticed how hard it is to start from scratch until you look at how Kalispell is doing after six years and how Minnesota was doing after 6 years

A few takeaways from this game: 1) Good god those turnovers hurt my heart. After seeing Kalispell take care of the ball pretty damn well for the last few seasons, its tough seeing our QB's turn the ball over so willingly. 2) Brandon Warren as a runner looked great today. Please make him a focal point of the offense, our RB's gave us nothing consistent today. 3) Justin Colbert was lackluster today, but that doesn't mean we should throw the towel in on him after one career game. 4) Our defense played pretty damn well today, especially when Kalispell is always getting beat by premier Runningback threats. 5) Amante Jones is still the best Receiver on this team. Feed him the ball.

I think Warren is the better choice. With the inexperienced receivers and all the backfield speed I think being an option offense with key TE passes in clutch situations is where we want to be.

Maybe this is an unpopular opinion but I really like this 2 QB system I think this is going to be one of the most fun seasons to watch yet and it’s so unlike anything you’ve ever really done cane I hope you keep it like this

Tbf although I was very exceptical of the 2 QB system at first I liked what I saw, it showed some really nice flashes and when it worked Kalispell moved the ball well againts a great defense. Most of the mistakes were because of bad usering (bad reads or directional passing) or the inexperienced receivers not creating separation.

Jeff Childs should be your starting Punter and Kicker. He's obviously the best at both and it's not realistic as I think Idaho did that last year This game was crazy good tho I think Brandon Warren's going to be one of the most fun players to ever watch on this channel

I’d use warren more in the red zone the option can be deadly down there also there’s a formation you should try with him i can’t remember the name but it has 2 lead blockers in front of the qb there’s a sweep and blast i used a lot along with some passing plays and sweep motions

I’ll be happy with the win, but the turnovers were absolutely dreadful. Most of the INTs could have been avoided by not holding up on the stick, which seems to be your default type of throw. Of course Malcolm Tyson gets beat deep in zone coverage late in the game. New year, same old Tyson? I hope I’m wrong. Overall the offense didn’t suck apart from the turnovers and I think this unit is going to be pretty dynamic for the next 3 seasons since Colbert has that many years of eligibility left. I’m also hoping that the defensive line rotation comes through since it seems that position group has been recruited well the past few years but we haven’t seen them make too many plays. If holding up on the stick gets toned down, I forecast a pretty good season yet again for this team.

Run this offense the way Clemson ran their offense with Deshaun Watson. I think this team would work at it's best with Warren at QB too.
