Two different style drumline.A&T CS is just all entertainment. They put on a show for the people. NSU "MT" focused on being clean and showing technique. Displaying discipline and musicianship.
@JT565M293 жыл бұрын
I have to agree, while I don’t know much about HBCU bands and drumlines I’ve noticed that NSU is highly focused on technique and playing clean. While I think these guys are good, they don’t compare to NSU. I’ve only ever been exposed to corps style marching and have started watching these more and more. Every video I see of NSU I’m constantly blown away.

To put dance coordination with unique style of play is hard, to do something that no other drumline has done before shows precession, and well put together show. To attract younger people that are in high school. Recruitment for these guys are easy. No brainer, I'm from Hampton Va. NSU was okay the quincy was good, but do the samething without looking down and standing still. That would have empress me. A&T STAYED MOVING ALL THE TIME. NO wonder they get requested every year internationally. And win Honda battle of the bands each year.
@itsvenises25203 жыл бұрын
Totally agree. Even during NSU quint segment some were looking up others looking down details and syncing is important too. That takes skill and practice.

Thankyou. All these folks be talkin about CS focus on entertainment while MD focus on being technical and clean. Bullllllshit, CS has increased their technicality and cleanliness exponentially over the last 10 years but it'll never be good enough for yall unless they change their instrumentation, style and become as one dimensional as most of these other lines, then you'll claim they jackin yall style. Please move on with that.

Please trust me when i tell you that im being as objective as i possibly can. Mdfs didnt do anything that cs could not have done themselves.However, it was mdfs quints that put their performance over the top. Yes, *plinks* and all. Which brings me to this. A&T has some of the best quints in the business, been that way for several years now. Video after video shows these guys playing some difficult and technical passages all on the heads. No rim shots no plinks. Cs needs to capitalize on these guys more.

operative words: COULD NOT HAVE DONE. Fact is that they didn't do anything close to what MD could do. If that was the case then they should have demonstrated that during this exhibition. THAT is the time you show what your section is made of. If A&T has some of the best quints in the business then please tell this guy in the video link below who saw both lines and said that to him MDFS had the best tenor feature of all time because I didn't find CS on his list. plinks and all. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fL13o9edzcWvcWw.html

Snares sound dirty
@itsvenises25204 жыл бұрын
I’m really asking a question...what does it mean when people say playing dirty on snares? I am just curious.
@jonb88994 жыл бұрын
Adrienne Smith The best way to describe it is sounding together. If you can hear multiple voices, then it’s not together and thus dirty. In this context, the snares should sound like one (though the sound would be thicker than if it was just one person playing). Example: If you take both your hands and tap them on the same surface at the same time, you’ve played cleanly. If you however offset one hand and let them fall, one hand will obviously hit before the other and won’t be together, or dirty.
@itsvenises25204 жыл бұрын
