Sometimes I wonder if Orochimaru even KNEW about half the ridiculously OP stuff Sharingan could do when he became hyper-fixated on them. He had SO MANY amazing options of bodies to take, with insane abilities that could have made his plans go so much smoother, yet he put all his chips in on Sharingans.

I saw him as a prodigy as well, and he got to that level without being literal reincarnations of Indra and Asura (Edit)Idk why people keep comparing Deidara to Itachi or Shisui, or anyone else who came from an elite clan with overpowered dojutsu, saying they did great things when they were 7 or 11 years old, who cares, we’re talking about Deidara, someone who wasn’t born to an elite clan or with an op dojutsu. He’s a prodigy in his own right when compared to other people who were also not born to an elite clan.

Sasori I gotta say is really ambiguous in terms of where I'd rank him in the overall Akatsuki. I rewatched Shippuden and his fight might be one of my favorites now. What struck me is how he's one of the characters who's talked up as a genius… and yeah he comes off incredibly intelligent. I think it's how insanely prepared he is, and how well thought out each and every one of his really powerful techniques actually are. Instead of say Sauske who gets called a genius while the plot bends over backwards to work for him, Sasori really feels like he designed contingencies all throughout his various techniques for the purpose of either combat efficiency, or to give him a surprise edge in battle. Hiruko is a good example. My first thoight on rewatch when Chiyo said it was for close combat I was like it looks really award for hand to hand combat. Then I saw all it's enhancements: huge mid range tail slathered in poison, poison senbon launcher in it's mouth for more range, and emergency senbon shrapnel launcher for a 360 aoe of poison senbons if he gets surrounded. It's meant to poison people who are stupid enough to get close to him which just wins close range combat. Not to mention he basically pretends Hiruko is him 99 percent of the time. Which highlights another aspect of Sasori that makes him feel intelligent: the fact he intentionally uses hidden information to his advantage. Sasori purposefully hides how a lot of his techniques work and modifications he's made to his puppets and the way Kishimoto introduces early his deceptive streak and his tendency to modify none of them feel like an asspull. They just make Sasori feel prepared. It all adds up to make him feel like a genius, and it definitely moved him up a couple spots in my rankings. I feel like he's definitely powerful though where I'd put him god knows.

Orochimaru DID NOT give Karin the ability to heal. She inherited this ability from her mother (Shippuden ep. 431) who also possessed this ability, and who was used to heal so many people at once that it killed her. She originally went to everyone's favourite backstabbing snake to avoid getting captured and subjected to the same sad fate.

Fun fact about itachi: when he joined the anbu he looked up to kakashi due to kakashi being a anbu captain

I like suigetsu, I think he's OP and underrated he literally wrestle the 8 tails, took a bijuu bomb and survives point blank and was revitalize by Karin, he has the water bullet jutsu which affected guru guru yamato, I can think of many heavy hitting attacks that guru guru yamato can tank and survive, he can use all the blades of the seven ninja swordsman though not as good as mongetsu his elder brother and I think he's below zabuza, he can liquify his body and can tank many attacks that would kill many people, he was able to suppress jugo via almost drowning, and can buff his physical stats using water which is insane, he saw like killer bee and like raikage and sasuke mongekyo and wasn't fazed that much whereas Karin was shitting herself, I'd say suigetsu is one of the greatest defensive and most lethal offensive fighters I've seen, and as support he can act as bait and destroy his enemies, as I said he almost solo Jugo with one move despite jugo being so stronger.

Mild correction/ nitpick *Karin had the ability to use the heal bite prior to Orochimaru, as shown for her backstory *"The second coming of the demon" bit was for both Suigetsu and Mangetsu as they were seen as the reincarnation of Zabuza, as shown via the databooks. *Suigetsu's water ability isn't a kekkei Genkai. It's a Clan Hiden ability, per data books *Deidara kinda beat Gaara by making him choose between the village or him. Otherwise, it's implied Gaara could have taken him out. *You basically said the Kakuzu one. But yeah, they PUNISHED him with incarceration for failing to kill Hashirama. *Orochimaru actually didn't master the undead reanimation. Kabuto did because he refined it. Remember, Orochimaru had a hard time just summoning the first and second Hokage and maintain control. They were also less powerful. Kabuto summoned an army, maintained better control remotely vs requiring the control tag, could optimize said reanimations as he did with Madara with Senju cells and blah blah. *Kisame was basically tasked from the jump to eliminate loose ends for the village via Fuguki. Deidra fighting Gaara in the hidden villa of the sand was actually a nerf to Gaara since he was defeated having to defend villagers instead of just being able to go all out in the fight.

I know how sasory controlled the dead bodies and use their kekkei genkai he preserved their bodies in a way that their chakra networks like the ones neji could see were still intact all he had to do was attach his strings and the person could use the jutsu that they could use when they were alive in the same vein that Kabuto did when he used the reanimation jutsu to it actually does make sense

I always assumed that the hidden mist was esthetically that way because it's by far the smallest content/country and was able to put more resources into its construction. If you can't spread outward, looking to utilize the air as space makes sense. At least to me.

Itachi know that if sasuke defeat him and manage to kill him or die in battle, sasuke will implant itachi's eye to himself. Itachi programmed shisui's eyes to cast kotoamatsukame against itachi's eyes that is planted to sasuke. Making sasuke protect konoha instead of destroying it.

Itachi didn't know he'd be brought back. He just figured Sasuke might use his eyes to destroy the leaf village.

Remember back in 2005-2009 how Zetsu was the biggest mystery about the Akatsuki. Everyone knew he was a plant, but he looked so different compared to everyone else and it was so exciting what his backstory was.

Ok, so how sasoris magnet release 3rd kazekage likely worked was by sending neutral chakra into the puppet via the threads. The body, likely being petrified rather than replaced with wood, or the chakra coils put into a wooden puppet, the latter being more likely, would default that neutral chakra into its strongest natures, that being earth and wind (I think that’s the magnet release) which allowed him to manipulate magnet chakra, which is likely countrilled by manipulating chakra outside the body and shaping, while the iron sand copies it, something Sasori is an expert at doing because that is what chakra puppetry is.

As for the madara constantly taking in nature energy the way I understood it was that the little hashirama face on his chest was doing the pulling of energy, which is why the sage mode features showed up on that little face rather than Madara’s face

I always thought Madara's ability to take in Nature Energy was because he used the Hashirama face on his chest the same way Jiraiya used Fukasaku & Shima and, since it was basically a clone of Hashirama, it was molding the Senjutsu Chakra on it own.

I really think people downplay how strong Orochimaru is in Boruto I can't see him being the same strength as he was in Shippuden. Madara was only able to absorb natural energy after the battle which formed Final Valley, during which he ripped a piece of Hashirama's flesh off only to later graft it onto himself, thus gaining that ability through those cells.

Deidara is definitely strong especially for such a young man. I personally don't really care for his character, but he was really tough and pushed the plot really well.

Kisame was able to look like a shark by merging with the living sword Samehada. This can be seen in his battle with Might Guy on the hidden island (Shippuden ep. 251)

People shit on Hidan, but his Kenjutsu / Taijutsu, speed and reflexes are spot on. He basically went toe to toe with Kakashi that is a taijutsu expert with sharingan. Not only he went toe to toe but Kakashi mostly fought defensively and couldn't do anything to Hidan.

With the three gates , orochimaru used it against a 4 tailed fox tailed beast bomb and it got destroyed and still hit him with impact , so I think it’s safe to say a real tailed beast bomb would do a lot more

I know there's probably a reason for this, but regarding Kakuzu and his ability to use the five base chakra natures, if he had the time, couldn't he be able to learn some Kekkei Genkai (the kind that anyone can learn)? I mean, if he were to train himself to increase his chakra reserves he might be able to learn a lot of Kekkei Genkai such as Boil Release, Lava Release and/or Magnet Release. Sure, I bet he might've tried to get the heart of a Kekkei Genkai shinobi but is there a specific anything stopping him from at least possessing one Kekkei Genkai?

It was almosy necessity to put kakazu with hidan because hidan didnt care for team work and usually killed his team member in order to get the job done. Pairing him with hidan meant they didnt need to keep finding new members

Arguably, Konan literally has a subtype or "lesser" variant of Wood Release. Origami paper is traditionally wood. She weilds it, and she becomes it too just like Minato becomes wooden.

i have many things to point out: 1- deidara joined the akatsuki when he was aprox. 16 years old, this can be calculated because by the time hiruzen died which is why itachi and kisame visited the leaf in og naruto, the akatsuki members and pairs we knew in the shippuden (excluding taka if you count them) were already set in place, this was already set about 3 years before deidaras or any other akatsukis members death 2- (this one may or may not be canon because some info is extracted from the game) kakuzus first mission was definitely not to kill hidan- from what we can see from the game, kakuzu, along with sasori are the members that have been in the akatsuki the longest (after pein and konan). from this we can conclude that kakuzu has done many missions in the akatsuki long before hidan ever showed up. to be precise, kakuzu has been in the akatsuki for aprox. 12 years before hidan 3- itachi was not 20 when he defeated orochimaru- like i mentioned in the first point, by the time orochimaru attacked konoha the current akatsuki members were already set in place, orochimaru had obviously left by that point. itachi was aprox. 18 years old when he visited konoha w/ kisame: he was 21 when he died and this took place 3 years before his death. this means that itachi was at most 17 years when he defeated orochimaru. many ppl say he was 14 which i agree with, because when we meet orochimaru in the chunin exams he had already created otogakure and 'recruited' shinobi like the team that fought against naruto sasuke and sakura in that same arc, all of that takes some time to be developed

The more Kisame used Samehada the more it would turn him into a shark. This is different from fusing with Samehada. It was explained in an episode I believe.
