Nice 127! This subunit of NCT is the most experimental, working with Dem Jointz on many tracks. They have over the top title tracks, but their b-sides are where they shine the most for me. NCT also have great dance practices. While NCT U is my favorite because of the rotation of members, 127 delivers songs that can be club bangers. "Cherry Bomb" is the title track on NCT-127's third mini album, which came out in June 2017. At this point there are 9 members in NCT-127 -- Taeyong (leader of all of NCT main rapper and dancer), Taeil (main vocal), Johnny (lead vocal and sub-rapper), Yuta (lead vocal), Doyoung (main vocal), Jaehyun (main vocal, sub-rapper and visual), WinWin (lead vocal and lead rapper), Mark (main rapper and dancer) and Haechan (main vocal). Just like with EXO, there is never just one main vocalist, rapper or dancer. NCT has 26 members, so every sub-unit will have more than one main. Plus, Kpop groups very rarely have only one main, especially when you are talking about a main vocalist within an SM group. SM is known for being a vocal powerhouse, so pretty much all their artists will be able to step in as a main vocalist when needed. Taeil is the oldest of all of NCT and he is currently 29 and Haechan is the youngest in NCT-127 at 23. However, if you want to know who is the youngest out of all the NCT members, that would currently be NCT-Dream member, Jisung, who is 21. (Although, after 7 years, he won't be the youngest much longer when the 6 new members of NCT's "New Team" Japanese sub-unit debuts soon. "New Team" member Sakuya, who is currently 15, will officially be the maknae. They just released their first pre-debut song, "Hands Up" a couple weeks ago.) Now you need to check out the dance practice videos for "Cherry Bomb", because I guarantee that there are parts of the choreography that you didn't even notice or weren't shown in the MV, that will impress you even more. NCT is actually known for their dancing, and they have a dance practice video for almost everything they do. You might consider pairing your reactions to NCT MVs with a reaction to the dance practice videos. Here's a little to help you understand how NCT works. NCT -- which stands for Neo (a pop culture term that means new/original) Culture Technology -- currently has 20 members. And the group right now as a whole has 4 sub-units -- NCT-U, NCT-127, NCT-Dream and WayV. (NCT will officially become a 26-member group when NCT's 5th sub-unit the "New Team" debuts.) Therefore, their style is meant to be new and original with elements that embrace different cultures and technologies to create their sound. What you are struggling to put into words and categorize is just called NCT-style, they don't really have a traditional music style that you can attach to them. NCT-127 is NCT's second sub-unit, which debuted in July 2016. NCT-127 currently has 9 or 10 members. This group is more of a fixed unit, so the member lineup stays the same most of the time. The 127 in this unit's name stands for the longitude coordinates of Seoul, South Korea, on a map of the world, which means it's 127's job to represent Seoul -- the birthplace of Kpop -- around the world. NCT is one of the most internationally diverse groups in all of Kpop. The members as a whole represent 8 different countries and they speak 7 or 8 different languages. For example, there are 11 native Korean members (*Taeyong, Doyoung, Taeil, Haechan, *Jaehyun, Jeno, Jaemin, Jisung, Jungwoo, and new members Sion and Daeyoung), *Mark is Korean-Canadian, *Johnny is Korean-American (from Chicago), 5 Japanese members (Yuta and new members Riku, Yushi, Ryo and Sakuya), *Ten is Thai, *YangYang is Taiwanese but he grew up in Germany, Hendery is Chinese from Macau (China) and 5 mainland Chinese members (WinWin, Kun, Xiaojun, Renjun and Chenle). However, they all live and work in Korea, so everyone speaks Korean fluently. Plus, many members have attended international schools or lived abroad, so there are several members who are also *fluent in English, on top of speaking 2 or more other languages. NCT is a group that is constantly changing and rearranging its members and sound and we never know quite what to expect from them. With a concept that allows the members to rotate between sub-units, changing, adding and subtracting members depending on the concept and style of the group or song, you should never expect the same thing from them. You are better off always expecting something new, that somehow, also ends up sounding very much like NCT. LOL NCT is SM's attempt at taking over the music industry around the world. SM's original goal was to eventually have NCT sub-units representing every major city in every country in the world. For example, they are just about to add a Japanese sub-unit. It has always been SM's plan to have world domination. And to that point, right now NCT-127 is the group that SM is using to try and get their foothold in the U.S. music market with all English versions of song like "Regular" and "Highway to Heaven" and collaborations with American artists such as Jason Derulo, as well as U.S. concert tours and promotional tours with the American media, etc. So, this year is NCT's 7th anniversary, but debut dates are different for any number of members because it all depends on when they were added to the group. And many of the members of NCT actually became recognized by fans even before debut because they were part of SM's pre-debut group project called SMRookies (or the new members who were part of a reality survival show called LASTART), so SM did activities with several of the members before they debuted. Taeyong (the leader of NCT and a member of NCT-U and NCT-127), Mark (a member of all of NCT's first 3 sub-units -- NCT-U, NCT-127 and NCT-Dream) and Ten (a member of NCT-U and WayV) and Lucas (a former member of NCT-U and WayV) are also members of the very first Kpop supergroup, SuperM, which is an SM group consisting of members from EXO, SHINee, NCT and WayV.

NCT do like their stitch ups & breakdowns! For NCT U, i'm kind of curious to see your thoughts on their song Work It. I love that song with a passion even though idk much abt EDM !

I think you might really like 127's and Dream's Killing Voice episodes.... you'll get to hear their lives vocals/rapping, harmonizing and a sample of both title tracks and b-sides. They don't do the full songs except for the title track they were promoting at the time. NCT starter recommends; *NCT U* - Baggy Jeans *NCT 127* - Kick It *NCT Dream* - Broken Melodies *WayV* - On My Youth *NCT DJJ* - Perfume *NCT New Team* - Hands Up (NCT New Team has not debuted yet, so Hands Up is a pre-debut release.... and "New Team" is just a temporary name, rumor is they'll be NCT Wish. They are the long awaited Japanese unit and will be the last fixed-member unit to be added to NCT.) I definitely suggest doing their Dingo Killing Voice to get an idea of just how insane their catalog is...they really are so diverse and VERY experimental, but at their core are very Hip Hop/RnB based. As you dive into them more you'll probably hear the term "Noise Music" when referring to them. It's due to their experimental nature. Haters started calling their music noise music but the group and the fans adopted the term and use it happily to describe their music to the point it's in a lot of their songs now lol.
