Judging by the haircolors, this was filmed in early 2020, before covid even spread to korea. For newer nctzens, it might be nice to know the context around this period. This was NCT 127's long awaited Korean comeback since Superhuman (which was promoted during their tour in the US, and hence boycotted by their kfans). During preparation for Kick it, Mark and Taeyong were STILL touring with SuperM at the SAME TIME, and their schedules were INSANE back then. It's why they are not in all the track videos of Neozone, bc they were too busy (for Mark it's still insane even now honestly). Taeyong's todoroki hair shows that they were also preparing for SuperM's 100 at the same time. Despite all of that, you can tell in this video that their passion was completely unwavered, and perhaps they were even more motivated than ever before to finally prove themselves: For their fans and for all the naysayers that said that either nct 127 was a failure (hate from nct dream fans) or other fans that thought nct as a whole did not gain enough popularity as an SM group, who just made noise instead of music. In radio interviews of Kick it era the members talked about how they weren't even sure anymore whether the public/fans liked their music. Then, news broke out that they had reached 550k pre-orders for Neozone, completely CRUSHING everyone's expectations. People accused SM of mediaplay and thought it was all a facade. Kick it was released along with Neozone and fans LOVED it. Bsides were charting high everywhere and Kick it was doing better than any title before. Still, we had limited tracking time, and albums were being shipped late as one of the photobook versions only came out a week later, putting them at a disadvantage for music show wins. BTS released Black Swan on the same day as a surprise release, and Kick it got overshadowed for kpop fans. It wasnt enough to gain any music shows in the first week. Luckily the song remained stable in kcharts and youtube views, and in the second week nct 127 finally got their first and only win for Kick it. As the song kept charting, more and more people found out about it, and so many idols started covering it, and now it has become one of the most iconic kpop songs out there. 127's success was so long overdue, and it was Kick it that finally brought this to them. When looking at this video that was shot before all of this, and seeing their passion and dedication to deliver this performance, despite all the discouragement they received, yeah, NCT 127 was mad as hell. I love seeing how much Mark and Taeyong are being praised in this video, because they were putting in 200% in these circumstances, and it all paid off. Forever proud of NCT 127
