It doesn’t happen too often and groups sometimes refrain from even mentioning each other due to fan wars and/or those ‘possessive’ (to put lightly) fans.

Kpop groups don't really collaborate. One member from each group might but not the actual groups. Exceptions are end-of-year award shows, where they cover eachothers songs or sometimes do collab stages. Like Mamamoo and Seventeen covered one song from eachother and then performed a mashup of two songs together at an award show. But usually it's just one member from maybe 3-4 groups that do a stage/song together. NCT is under SM Entertainment btw and BTS under HYBE.

Lmaoo welcome to sticker defenders 😪 and as far as kpop groups collaborating, it may have happened before but it’s not really a thing, Usually it’ll be a group and maybe a solo artist, or two solo artist collaborating. Although there are some super groups that exist of members form multiple groups usually from the same company all come together to create a new group. Two popular examples are (SuperM) which have members from NCT(who you just watched) and a member Taemin from the 2nd gen group (Shinee) and there is a girl super group called (GOT) which I think means “Girls on top”

If you're picking up on the high notes, harmonies and adlibs going on near the end, it's likely you're enjoying Doyoung, Haechan or Taeil's singing - they are often considered the strongest trio for vocals in 127. Yuta, Jungwoo, and Jaehyun are also strong vocals, but in this song they aren't covering those notes you're reacting to (I think). Taeyong and Mark are the main rappers of the group, while Johnny and Jaehyun rap too actually. I personally think all of the boys have beautiful voices while singing, but in terms of the common roles within the group, that's the way I would provide that info to help starting out with learning names etc.

For the bts and nct coming together comment, it can be a long story and a lot to go into detail to be honest. I'm a multi stan, therefore I enjoy listening to many kpop groups and bts are my top favs. I also consider myself an nct fan but not hardcore the way I am with bts, and man.. it would be interesting to see those come together since they kind of have different vibes. But when it comes to the fans, a lot of armys and nctzens (fandom name) don't really get along from what I've seen. Obviously there's armys that also enjoy listening to nct (or the other way around as well) but most fans from both groups are very protective of their boys, so it would be complicated to really enjoy a collab between these two groups. I guess you could say that the fans for both groups are like "rivals" as you said.
