Id say oil stick is literal and not wrong but ppl would be confused so I always explain 油条 like oily fried dough stick so like churros maybe but not sweet. I don't know exactly if it fits tho bc I have never raten churros before only youtiao. Most ppl in China if they choose youtiao for breakfast eat this with warm soy milk. It's really good but i dont do it often bc its not very healthy

FYI, in English it is commonly called Chinese Fried Doughnut. Basically if you find any dim sum with a dough skin on outside and filling inside it is translated to dumpling. Any flat pan cooked dough becomes flat bread. If you still can’t categorize it, it just becomes dim sum + description, other than the few exceptions cause they are so famous, like this one.
