ND FIlters explained - Is the Solar Filter just for the Eclipse? Nikon Zf - Viltrox 20mm 2.8

This week we are going to talk about ND (Neutral Density) filters and head out to a local lighthouse to make some ND landscape photogrpahy with the Nikon ZF and the Viltrox 20mm 2.8. I'll talk about the different uses for ND filters and talk about why they are important for more than just still landscape photography. We'll also talk about why that Solar filter you got for the big Eclipse isn't as useless as you may have thought!

I got a 20 stop filter for 45 vs the 80 for a solar filter that charged 14 for shipping

Great info on how to use the filters and info in that NiSi app (thanks for that). One question i have is, when you use a filter and say you use a telezoom lens, if you shoot at the widest point say you’re using the 24-120 lens, at 24mm would you see vignetting on the edges or maybe that’s the filter ring. Last time i shot mine in Acadia, at 24mm while using the 10 nd filter, i had what looked like the ring of the filter in the corners.

No, you shouldn't. When you will see that kind of thing happen is when you are shooting an ultra wide lens. SO a 15mm with a filter will definitely vignette unless you get a filter that is designed to be shallow. On the other hand, at 24, you will likely get a little bit of vignette if you stack two filters. One filter should be good though. PM me if you are still having an issue.
