The National Defence Academy in Khadakwasla, Pune, hosted a significant event with the 145th cadet course's passing out parade. This occasion was notable for the participation of the first batch of women cadets, a group of about fifteen, who are in their second year of a three-year training program. They joined their male counterparts in the parade, marking a historic moment for the academy. President Droupadi Murmu, who is on a four-day visit to Maharashtra, attended the event and expressed her pride and congratulations to the female cadets in her speech, acknowledging their role in elevating the prestige of the country and the academy.
This event was part of President Murmu's itinerary, which included inaugurating the centenary year celebrations of Kaivalyadhama in Lonavala, Maharashtra, and plans to present the President's Colour to the Armed Forces Medical College in Pune. She is also scheduled to virtually inaugurate the Armed Forces Centre for Computational Medicine 'Prajna' and attend the 111th convocation of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University in Nagpur. The presence of high-ranking officials like Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chouhan and GOC in C Southern Command Lt Gen Ajay Kumar Singh further underscored the importance of the parade.
