Being in foreign countries with no working papers is really stressful. And sometimes people home don't understand that being legal is best way. How to get legal papers is another ball game.

That was so unfortunate? How could they deport you and your visa had not expired? There are millions of immigrants who their visas expired 20 years ago and there are in US doing their work , why didn’t they arrest the ones who didn’t have visas or their visas were expired? Even the judge could have considered the matter, even if you had overstayed, you still had a visa. You were the unlucky one but God will bless you , even back home there are people who are doing very well, they only go to US to visit and even they can’t stand the hustling type of living people face.
