Whenever people complain about screaming or growling vocals I get so annoyed. The human voice is an instrument, growling and screaming does to singing what distortion did to the guitar. He was fired/kicked out from the band as it was discovered that he is a domestic abuser if I remember correctly. He may be incredibly talented, but that is just unacceptable and deserved what he got. Also, kudos for the band for taking action and holding him accountable for his actions. They held auditions for a new bassist this past year right before Urn was released, and I personally think the new bassist is even better. (Plus he doesn't beat his wife/family) I saw them about a month ago live with the new bassist. I was at the barricade in front of the new bassist and I just watched with my jaw dropped the entire show in complete awe of how amazing he is (and the whole band of course).

@@jppallais5663 I was a little disappointed this time around as they had a person selling their merch instead of the band themselves. I'll always remember Matt and Tim throwing cardboard boxes of merch over piles of snow in Philadelphia for their first US performance...They had to find a different venue as Cradle of FIlth had visa problems and couldn't make the first 3 shows, so NeO booked smallers clubs to play the beginning of the tour. im sure benji's guitar gets higher up every concert
@inversionofcontrol8 жыл бұрын
In case you ever wonder why; I had the pleasure to meet with the band and Benji explained to me that he holds the guitar that high because of the injury in his hand after a motorcycle accident. Anyway, these people are talented, amazing performers and so, so, so humble and friendly it is hard to believe.

I would straight up lose my shit if I ever saw this band, this record is the peak of modern prog imo. Haven’t heard anything of the same quality in the genre since

Opeth is probably the most comparable band to NeO, they're swedish prog death metal type shit. They started in the 90s but are still kicking today. Similar music worlds. There's a lot of great prog bands. Thrailkill is a really good proggy technical instrumental only band based in LA, they just released a sick new album last night called Unperson you may wanna check that out it's tight

I just discovered this band and they are so amazing. They covered that void opeth left a while ago.

Omg, i'm like falling in love with this group. I just happened to stumble upon them and they are coming to play in LA in Nov. I'm so going. So charming, being able to play the violin like that. I'm really impressed so far. Ready to fucking rock the pit.
@Bender6amer6 жыл бұрын
did you end up seeing them in November? If so, how was the show? (I'm seeing them for the 3rd time in a few weeks in Melbourne - home town!!) :D

Besides the fact that this is an absolute masterpiece, the fact that the volume balancing between the individual instruments and vocals is spot freakin' on really stood out. Well done, lads; it shows some real passion and skill in your trade. Hope to see y'all in The Netherlands one of these days!

Throwback to when Cygnus was still in the band. Even though their current bassist is very talented, I'm glad I got to see them with this lineup.
