Context/background :
Weeks before the actual (Singapore) National Day parade on 9 August every year, it will host several rehearsals shows that allow audiences to join and watch the show, typically on multiple Saturdays before 9 Aug. The performance shows are introduced to all of the Primary 5 school students as the Govt believes the show are a great way to get them to learn about Singapore’s identity and heritage/giving them a sense of belonging. Hence, the name ‘NE show’ (National Education show) cough not a propa- The schools are allowed to specially use the MRT privately to get to/from the parade and school venue as most students have to be gathered/dismissed from their respective school venues and not at the parade site. (Most likely for crowd control/safer way to return home for children)
MRT is a more efficient/safer way to transport a large crowd of people to their respective venues compared to buses anyway.
The Parade site this year is at Padang so most likely they will board at Raffles Place station after their NE show ended.

It depends whether your school location is located near NS/EWL station. If your school is located out of NSEWL range, for example North East side like Punggol, most likely they will use private bus instead as the parade site isn't located near a NEL station and it's troublesome to get a big group of students to transfer at busy interchanges.

For this year? Maybe. Not the first time in history because NE show has a history of chartering train for students last year and some years before (with exception of several years of absence before 2022)

The charter train is only for students and staff only. So if u do not attend the NE Show, you can't board the charter train. It is to ensure that the commuters do not board the charter train but only for the students and staff. It will only withdraw from service after it drops the students and staff out to their destination.

@@TrainEnthusiast2009 You mean they are going to use R151 for charter train this year?? I think not yet probably next year as they needed to have more tests first before going to service as charter train.
