Just so you know, I don't mind poor editing. I'm sure I could do with NO editing. As long as we're able to see the world with y'all, and cross the ocean blue. Don't spend too much time on editing. It's excellent just in its pure, raw form. Thank you!!

Hi Guys!!! Brett, Boom Vang replacement .... have a look at the Seldon Strut, its nitrogen to lift your boom, but the cool thing is it's designed to have rope blocks fitted (6 to 1 works great). I think the #2 size would fit straight on then run the sheet back to your cockpit top. Just the down-stop to work out. I think about an hour to fit for you. They work great and the nitrogen strut lasts at least 5 years, mine about 8 years, been fitted for 13 years now. OH Brett, your boom inner fitting needs to be repaired very soon. oversize the rivets and use Duralac. Cheers.

I loved Brett’s expression when he looked at the gooseneck where boom connects and noticed the asymmetrical gap. And realized, yeah that’s a problem but there is sweet nothing I can do about it here, and quickly changed the subject.

Love the last shot with the full moon. I learned in welding school that heat or constant friction kills molecules and that softens metals causing them to break. Example, start bending a piece of metal, the more you bend it, the hotter it becomes at the bending point, destroying the molecules, the easier it becomes to bend until it finally breaks. These ocean crossing videos are addictive.😂. Got to tune in to see what’s happening next on the big adventure. 👍. Stay safe. 🙏😎✌️

My Lasik surgery was totally worth it! I had it done in 2007, and it is still working great. I do need cheaters now, but my far distance vision was the problem, and that's fine still. As you age, the near vision tends to go. Well, maybe not for sailors! Safe travels!

I had lasik in 2002, and zero regrets after wearing heavy glasses for 35 years. I *do* miss my macro vision… I could look at tiny things just off the end of my nose, and now I need to use reading glasses for books, which is opposite of my previous life. But not needing them to drive, and being able to actually see makes up for it. :)

Lasik surgery DEFINITELY worth it for me. I wore contacts/glasses for 45 years before getting Lasik. It's amazing to be able to see when I wake up and to be able to rub my eyes without worrying about my contacts. I don't have to worry about the wind while we are underway or about my contacts if I get splashed. I waited so long because I was afraid of surgery on my eyes. I had my Lasik done about a year before we bought our boat and moved aboard.

I have been watching your videos and love your adventure. I heard you ask about Lasik. I had it done almost 30 years ago. BEST thing I ever did. I was basically blind. Could not see the clock without glasses when I woke up. I think my vision was 20/400. Had a bad stigmatism. I was told that when I got older, I would need reading glasses. All was true. I had very thick glasses. I am now 65, and I finally needed glasses. I wish I had done it much earlier. I was heavy into sports and glasses suck, rain, sweat, etc. GET IT DONE, you will be forever glad you did. Keep up your great channel. BTW, I have not seen you guys so happy as now, with your new crew member. Love it, you guys get along so well.

I had lasek done back in 2000. I was 1 of the 10% that would experience discomfort. Day 3 after the surgery was the worst with very itchy eyes that you absolutely cannot rub. Took a month before I could drive at night due to very bad halos around everything illuminated. On top of that, my surgeon said I would need it again in 25 years, or wear reading glasses. (Had surgery due to being near sighted). I still have 20/20 vision, but I am playing the trombone now trying to read things. Even after all that, 10/10 would recommend.

Guys. That was not almost being run over. I grew up sailing boats from 12 to 37 feet in the Saint Lawrence Seaway and the Detroit River, Lake Erie. Close is 50 feet from an Ocean freighter and your boat between solid stone Channel dikes. You develop nerves of steel and a steady hand on the helm. A Dutch Captain of a Finnish oil tanker once literally tipped his hat when he learned where I sailed. Those Captains fear those waters.😂😂

Hi Guys, loving your vlogs. Reminds my of my crossing in 2013. Get Lasic surgery, it’s the nuts. As an international marksman who’s sight was failing it was a game changer. I had my weak eye done first, the outcome was incredible and instant. I was able to see better than I had ever done in that eye. This was in 2006. The following year I had the other eye done and since I was a pistol shooter, I had my left eye focussed at about 1m. It made such a difference to my shooting. However it was all in vein as the government banned all pistol ownership in the UK. The eye clinic I used was the only medical establishment I have ever been in where every patient comes out of the surgery smiling 😁 Get it done👍

Jade, you asked if lasik is worth it. I say absolutely. I had it done about 20 years ago and I have only hadI 2 drawbacks. My eyes are very dry and my close up vision has gotten worse as I have gotten older. I am now 52 and my close up started to get worse about 5 years ago. This happens anyways but doctors say it happens a bit faster with lasik. Both my sister and I are completely happy with lasik. My brother in law is frustrated with close up but his distance is fantastic. Be sure to talk to your doctor about dry eyes and close up vision issues as you get older.
