it happened to me few years ago, i was reciting surah yasin from memory while i was riding my motorbike to work when i got stuck at a certain ayat because i suddenly forgot the ayat. i remind myself to open the app version of surah yasin in my pc as soon as i got to the office. i did just that and i clicked at a random ayat number in the apps, and lo and behold it was the very ayat that i was forgotten earlier. masyaAllah

Your story is so very touching. I have experienced so many wonderful moments following Islam. Even though I was ignorant sometimes it seems that Allah had patience with me. I recall trying to be so devout and wanting to live perfectly. Now, it’s twelve years later and I am truly been guided and blessed by the words of the Quran. Sometimes I just stop praying or realize how powerful the words are. Each and every word is far beyond my thoughts. I just have to stop and think about what I read or prayed. SubhanaAllah. That brought tears in my eyes. Allah SWT mercy is beyond our imagination. Your story reminds me of my past life sister. I was people pleaser because I was unwanted child. 😔 My parents didn't go along with each other and my mother took up all her frustration and anger on me. As a teenager I became rebel and didn't really care about anything, especially religion. I get the concept that God doesn't bother too much about my existence and He doesn't listen my prayers, otherwise why I have to go through this? All I wanted was to be happy and have a happy family but no matter what I do, it was never good enough for my mother. At the age of 17, I run away from the home and meet similar groups of people to you. I start drinking and taking drugs, to numb my pain but it's only getting worse. I live on the outside but inside I was dead. I go abroad about 10 years ago to cut myself from these people but I got into new problems. I came to the Deen slowly, didn't realize all what's happened to me was for the reason. Islam help me understand that I don't live for people and my life is not dependent on them. I became a Muslim because He doesn't want me to live in despair, hopless and defeat by the Shaytan. I still have my bad days because I'm the only Muslim in my family and I'm not too close to the local Muslims but I know that's the test from Allah SWT, to make me stronger. At the beginning, I wasn't sure of being a Muslim, even I had similar reactions to yours, sister, when I heard the words from Holy Quran. But the fear inside me was stronger. I was very lonely and depressed but I wanted to feel something. My heart was like rock, due all this years but Allah SWT make it soft again. Thank you very much sister for your story. May Allah SWT give you strength and bless you with joy and happiness. Ameen.
