When a client comes to you wanting something very unique for their new office, you have to think outside the box. In this case, a twelve foot step down tank was part of the winning solution

Long time, no watch. I've been watching your nano budget tank videos you helped make. Been learning lots! I'm starting up a Coralife 32gal Cube. Just began the planned month long cycling. Thinking about a Brachiosaurus Blenny for my main fish, an Orchid or Purple Dottyback, a Trio of Red Stop Light Cardinals or Zebra Barred Darts, gotta have Clowns (Snowflake) w/ Anemone, and maybe a pair of Green Banded Gobies. Am I stocking too much? I feel like I'm stocking too much.

The problem of big tank with canopy design is, too much water evaporation and it ruins everything. Rusts everywhere with in a year and things start to fail and twisting doors etc... i think it definetly requires fan or open area where air can go in and out. i have seen many fails just becasuse they didnt compensate it in their design

Question for anyone and everyone, or Mr. Saltwater Tank TV himself, why does the fuge go straight into filtration? Doesn't that keep any pods from making it to the tank?

Why put the refugium before the filtration? Doesn’t that defeat the purpose of it? Wouldn’t the natural habitat cop’s and pod’s be better off after the skimmer, so that they make it back into the display?
@mrsaltwatertank4 жыл бұрын
The main purpose of the refugium is to export nutrients. Pod growth is a secondary benefit. I'll bomb the tank with pods so it will have plenty of microfauna. I'll also place some rock in the refugium which I can move back and forth to the display tank to move the pod population around
@y.a.d17374 жыл бұрын
copepods provide great help to lot of finicky feeders, and corals too, most sumps have refugium after the skimmer
