Quarterback Dylan Raiola joined Jessica Coody for National Signing Day to talk his decision to sign with the Huskers, what’s he’s liked about Matt Rhule and the Husker FB coaching staff, what wearing the N means to him, managing expectations as the nation’s top quarterback, and more!
Presented by Woodhouse Auto Family
. . .
Dylan Raiola joins Nebraska as the top quarterback recruit in the country. He began his prep career in Texas and Arizona before playing his senior season for Buford High School in Georgia. In his prep career, Raiola passed for nearly 8,500 career yards with 88 touchdowns and only 11 interceptions, according to MaxPreps.
As a senior at Buford, Raiola helped the Wolves to an 11-2 record and the quarterfinals of the state playoffs. He completed 63 percent of his passes, throwing for 2,666 yards. Raiola threw 34 touchdowns and had just one interception. Raiola played his junior season at Chandler High School in Arizona, where he led the Wolves to the semifinals of the open division state playoffs. He threw for 2,435 yards and 22 touchdowns at Chandler, completing 64 percent of his passes. As a sophomore at Burleson High School in Texas, Raiola completed 65 percent of his passes and threw for 3,341 with 32 touchdowns, and he added nine rushing touchdowns. Raiola was the county and district player of the year.
Raiola was rated as the top quarterback prospect in the country by 247Sports, ESPN and Rivals. Each organization also had him ranked among the top 10 overall recruits nationally, including 247Sports and Rivals which each tabbed him as the No. 2 overall recruit in the 2024 class.
Dylan is the son of Dominic Raiola, who was a center at Nebraska from 1997 to 2000. Dominic was a redshirt on the Huskers' 1997 national championship team and in 2000, he was a first-team All-American and the Rimington Trophy winner as the nation's top center. Dominic's No. 54 jersey is retired at Nebraska. He went on to play 14 seasons in the National Football League with more than 200 career starts, becoming the second player in Detroit Lions history to play in 200 games and the first non-kicker.
Dylan's uncle, Donovan, is Nebraska's offensive line coach.

Dylan is a very mature and well spoken young man. They say he's quite the football player too! I'm especially happy for him, his dad and his uncle. Everyone's familiar with how much family means in the Polynesian culture. I'm of course very happy for Nebraska fans and players but especially happy that these men and the whole family will be sharing this journey together for the next four years. Have fun! GBR!

If Dylan toughs it out at Nebraska for 4 years he will be a champion and have a successful pro career no doubt about it. He will be one of the all time legends at such a historic program and break multiple records. This dude has a cannon with a snipers accuracy. Every fan base will have positive and negative feedback for individual players after every game. But he will never receive higher praise than from the Nebraska faithful.

This kid is really talented but he’s gonna have a hard time looking the part in Nebraska.. He should’ve stayed at Georgia, on a team that has everything he needs to excell.. It’s gonna be unfair to this kid the amount of backlash he’s gonna get from the Husker fanbases when he’s underperforming because he don’t have skilled position players to help him out, the fanbase is gonna turn on him and it’s not gonna be his fault.. Good Luck young man.. I’m rooting for you..

I have been the biggest skeptic of Rhule and his coaching ability, but, he is making all the right moves right now.....I hope I have all of those I debated with in terms of whether Rhule is the right coach for this job tell me at the end of the day I told you so....I want to be 100 percent wrong!

@scottlosey4978 good morning my friend, looking overall, you can see the vision of what Matt Rhule wants Nebraska to look like. Big name's with diamonds in the rough that will become NFL talent. Not just focused in one area, but the entire program. It's going to be a journey brother, but I like what I see. Putting together the pieces to bring back a dominant program once again. GBR ☠️☠️☠️☠️

@michaeljorgensen4423
@michaeljorgensen4423 6 ай бұрын
@@DONUT2858 Iowa and Kansas aren’t the huskers. The huskers were an elite program that mid 90s teams could have probably hung with a nfl team so Iowa can consider finishing in the top 25 competing but Nebraska not so much. When I say compete for Nebraska it’s obviously meaning compete for national titles. Iowa or Kansas aren’t really contenders for the title. Iowa maybe.

@@DONUT2858 I miss the old days when the cowboys and huskers were the football programs to beat. But let’s be real all the factors the helped the huskers are now gone. Back in early 90s Nebraska’s had an elite training facility much better than most of college football. They were the first to get the elite turf that was almost as good as grass. That’s all gone they don’t have that recurring benifit now. Probably more importantly is Nebraska can’t take starts no one else work touch. In the 90s that got many players with criminal troubles that other colleges would not touch. Today the neither big schools will look the other way just like the huskers did. They didn’t care if they had a killer on the team because he could run 🤫

@@DONUT2858 the blackshirt days are done. That use to be a honor to get a blackshirt and be apart of that defense. They always had great linebackers and defense. They just can’t get the recruits anymore and it’s Nebraska so that won’t change
