Karen Gillan goes through such a jaw-dropping transformation to the on-screen Nebula, I feel like there should be a new Oscar category for best special effects, cgi and mo-cap actors (actors who play unique non-human roles). Even the way she alters her voice so distinctively, she truly brings Nebula to life as a character. Karen Gillan deserves huge props.

When I was little I always thought that how those scenes in movies where it shows the character as a kid and the next scene they're a grownup were made was they recorded the actor as a kid and then resumed 30 years later. I was stupid lol

Wow. I always thought that quite a bit of her appearance was CG, just like Iron Man and Spider-Man (Infinity suit). Props to these people.

Nebula was always my favorite. Glad she got such a big role in guardians 3. Thank you, Karen, for going through this transformation every day to give us such a great performance.

Definitely one of my favorite characters. She's just so completely broken and put back together with rage by her father and it's all she's ever known. The smallest kindness just impacts her so much that she finds it confusing.

I imagine that her days were especially long, since the transformation takes like forever, they would try to shoot as many scenes with her that day as possible...

I thought nebula was a humanoid robot until almost half of the movie , its one thing for robots to learn to be humans, but a human to be installed so many instruments in her body its stressing, I really love her character

Nebula is one of the biggest hearts of Guardians. Thank you Karen for bringing her to life. I hope in G3 her and Rocket bond more on being cyber genetically altered. They are so similar.

Considering how charming and enthusiastic Karen Gillan is normally, the transformation is astounding, both on the outside and how she performs as Nebula.

I always think that this sort of thing shows the real dedication and ambition of actors. Acting, rehearsal, learning lines etc, is fun or at least interesting for them; sitting still in a makeup chair from very early morning for hours every day must be hard.

Bloody hell, I have so much respect for her being able to sit almost completely still for such a long period of time. Like, yeah, she could do stuff with her hands, but still. I could not do that. I remember her (Karen Gillan) saying that for the Doctor Who episode The Girl Who Waited, when Amy gets trapped inside a "Kindness Facility" for 39 years and, of course, ages that amount of time, she had to come in at 4am for the 4 hours of prosthetics it took to age her up from Current Amy to Old Amy. The producers wanted to hire an older actress to play Amy, but Gillan wanted to play both Amys herself.

Its so easy to think, "oh, cool costume ", without realizing what actors and actresses actually go through to become their characters. ❤

She is beauty beyond any thoughts 💭 patient and great actress. I love her last movie about killers and organization. I almost believe in her acting - she was impressive in her role as girl who was raised without mother’s care and worked as killer for some shady organization. Especially her eyes in this movie - some kind of sadness in them. Fits perfect for her role as orphaned girl. And then she meet her mother after all these years of loneliness - in was speechless acting too. Great movie IMO. She is great in any kind of movie - I love horror about killer-mirror with devilish powers, love all two new Jumanji movies, etc.. she is great. Much better than most of actresses of her age IMO.

My biggest dream is to become an fx makeup artist. Those guys are doing the thing I'll probably only ever dream of *Edit:* To everyone who shit talked me: thank you. You guys gave me so much motivation. I was just accepted into Cinema Makeup School's summer bootcamp 2, which only accepts about 12 students per start date (a total of about 36 students per year.) I'm also in talks with Vancouver Film School and plan on enrolling in their makeup design for film and television course, which is the best fx makeup course _in the world._ I'm actually typing this out as I'm getting ready to go work on a short film set as the head makeup artist. Yeah, I'm head makeup artist on two films right now. And I'm doing prom and bridal makeup for several people. My point is, chase your dreams. Go after them and DO NOT STOP. You'll get there. I promise you will.
