In the last decade and a half I have seen so many failures on the solar breaker being installed in the wrong place on an electrical panel. I think we often do not do a good enough job making sure that everyone understands the rules that we have to follow.
This short video tries to explain the WHY of "Why do have to install our breaker on the opposite side of the main breaker?" Leading to me asking "Why did you not know this, it is one of the first things we teach?"
I hope for this to be a series of upcoming videos going over the nuances of the solar installation process and how best to get out of the way of excellent production times with the highest quality work. I have been an licensed electrician and working in the solar industry together combined for 30 years, and I feel that I qualify as an expert in residential solar and electrical. That being said there are a lot of people that I am sure know more than I do, people that went to school longer than I that can tell you down to how the atoms work in electricity, that's not me. I learned this from my hands, and as a contractor I always did what I said I was going to do, being fair to my clients. I would like to give my knowledge out to anyone that wants to learn it, all three of you. Lol
