Hey Chris. I just wanted to say I've been a subscriber since I first saw your kylo Ren lightsaber custom collectable. I've always been a geek but i've never delved into cosplay, I'm tempted to give something a go just for fun and see how it comes out. However, its not just your builds and cosplay's that keep me coming back to your channel. It's your warm spirit, big heart and general positivity that you continue to spread and keeps me coming back to your channel each and every time. I think its fair to say when I've had a crappy day, your videos really lift my spirits. Keep doing your thing bro :)

Great video as always Chris. I use a wire brush or course sand paper to fray and scuff materials. It's always best to try on a spare peice first😊

I was inspired by this video to do some alterations to my mask. I used a file to make a few smoothed down parts to make it look a bit beat up, sandpaper for scratching, I used your dirt/water idea, and then put some black scuff marks on it with a hockey puck. I didn't bother adding blood and I felt that the off-white of the straps was fine, so I did nothing with them. Regardles, thanks for inspiring my alterations. It turned out perfectly. You're awesome!

hey Chris, I have been watching your videos for a while now (over a year) and I love them. I am a model painter myself and for fresh blood I use tamiya clear red with some black wash in it. It gives a really realistic blood effect. Also there are a lot of tutorials online how to use it. I hope you read this comment and find it useful. Cheers, Rob

I’m making a mask like this. I am adding another step by putting black face paint around my eyes so it gives it more of an intimidating look and I’m using a torn up leather jacket. I am also doing your blood coming out of the grill idea! That was awesome looking!

It's great that you got the 1990 Casey Jones done so accurately. Elias Koteas in that movie reminded me of how Marc Damascus looked playing Eric Draven. When it comes to the mask, I really liked Josh Peck's Casey Jones in the recent animated series, but I don't know where a modernized interpretation of the character would find that type of goalie mask aside from Halloween stores and companies selling prop replicas. There aren't as many around as in 1990 (or 1985, when the character was introduced). When Stephen Amell played Casey Jones, I was hoping for him to wear the next generation of goalie mask (just like how the Feig/Dippold Ghostbusters drove a retrofitted 80's hearse). Many of those early 90's masks were relatively protective while still leaving much of the goaltender's face to an opponent's imagination. Besides, someone walking around New York wearing even the most modern goalie mask while slugging some people with his Louisville Slugger seems even more terrifying than (though maybe crazy as) a 5'3 guy in skimpy yellow and blue spandex trudging through the wilds of Canada, gutting people like fish.

I am also doing a Casey costume for a con this summer (my first time wearing a costume to a con), pretty much because the release of this mask makes me want to do it so bad, LOL. I'm doing the straight-up 1990 movie version, so I won't be altering my mask, but this vid has me seriously considering picking up a second one to "rough up" for a future, alternate Casey costume. Casey jones is awesome

I custom-fit my NECA replica mask by adjusting the straps to my head, cutting the excess strap material and folding and sewing the remaing ends to the main straps, so that they can no longer move and make the mask too big again. I can shake my head and it won't move, yet feels very comfy. It is perfect now 👌🏻
