The Matte versions looks a lot better. I hope that’s the version I get when Neca finally sends me mine!

Yea, the more I deal with them. They are far superior. And hopefully, I haven't heard from anyone who got their neca store sets say theirs were matte nor glossy.

@@powerturtlebusters My set's from the NECA store preorders. Had the same situation as you, all glossy heads, and the mostly matte parts on the body, but with a few random glossy parts. Not really sure what was going on at the factory. Two of them have matte chests/front shells and two have glossy.

I think they were half asking the matte finish. Slacking on the job. I'm literally thinking of grabbing another set to check.

Thanks for posting this. As far as I can tell, you're the only Tuber who did a full comparison of the running change and it was very helpful. Specially for those of us who are looking for a 2nd set to fix (substantial) quality control issues, and now know we need to make sure we pick one that matches the version/finish we already got. Anyways... liked and subscribed. Hope you get even more views.

Overall paint quality just looks flat out better on the newer release. Excited to receive my set. Excellent video.

My krang android body broke but when it fell like 3 ft onto a carpet. The waist on that figure was really loose and my rocksteady came with a totally unglued arm. Other than that and some little paint flaws I've had great luck. 2 bad ones out of like 40 isn't too bad at all.

Just got neca turtles in disguise preorder in from last summer, lol. They’re mostly matte finish except for a several arms, and most hands. Lol. Tbh I’d be cool w glossy or matte, just excited to finally have the cartoon bros.

I realized unless your there basically right then and there you wouldn't even know the haulathon happened. Lol at least here. At 8 someone announced it was at my closest target, by the time I went at 9 you couldn't tell anything ever came in. Someone cleaned em out fast as hell

It's bad, gotten worse in 2020. Started getting pretty rough around 2018. But best of luck. I think neca is now retail like Mattel, hasbro etc and will be way easy to find stuff.

@@powerturtlebusters hopefully so, I remember back in the day I'll walk into a store straight to the toys section, and there will be plenty of items in stock. Long stories short you could always find what you're looking for back then. I miss those days peoples actually buy it for themselves, not now they always trying to flip it smh. Get yourself some Silicon Shock oil from amazon. Really fixes stiff joints.

I got them looser. But the glossy ones were out the box perfect. Didn't have to break those ones in. These I had to turn a good 8 times before they got loose enough.

man i watched this video like months ago, and intended on getting the matte finish, went on ebay and actually couldnt tell with the photos, but they came with other figures and the deal was kinda alright, but the dude told me they were matte, and turns out theyre shiny. now i want the matte ones. so, i guess im going to get another set and sell these probably. either that or just decide to display one set in disguise or something. but its kind of a bummer that i didnt get the matte when dude told me thats what they were

I'd tell ebay or the seller they gave you a not matte set. Was not as described. And use that cash towards the set you want. I have shiny ones in box and matte on display.

i cant say i agree with you on your opinion that the movie figures should have interchangeable bandanas etc. The reason i cant agree is that Jim Henson did such an outstanding job on the movie turtles designs, that each one had a distinct personality and look, and Neca nailed it with the movie figures and captured their personalities really spot on with the sculpts on the figures. So thats a bigggg difference from the cartoon, where all turtles are the exact same in every way except a different color bandana.

Those movie designs are perfect. Each face was distinguish between the 4. They for whatever reason refuse to use those designs for new movies etc. Instead we keep getting glasses Donnie and pirate durag raph.

@@powerturtlebusters I know, man! hit the nail right on the head! I mean, I will probably go see Mutant Mayhem, but it just looks so juvenile. They look more like 10-11 yr olds, than teenagers. Donatello looks like Steve Urkel. Mikey has braces, and like you said, still with the du-rag on Raph. Honestly, bro, I dont think they will EVER be able to top what Jim Henson did for the first film. Its a masterpiece. The Turtles were just really brought to life in such a way that was uncanny, and wayyyy ahead of its time!

@user-mz6ly1fj3z my only thought is maybe they will grow each film like groot. But that's a lot a bank on. They have to just know the movie will make money at that rate. I'm still not digging anyone's designs or art style from that mutant movie lol. Leo maybe. Kinda got a next mutation regular tmnt look. Bebop etc nope.
