Eso balancing at this point is consider mentalrot level to me, nerf something doesnt need to be nerf at first place to the ground then buff something and nerf again.

There has to be balance changes to any game to keep things interesting. Even first person shooters have meta guns people just cry too much. I like the changes maybe not all. But I have all classes and enjoy them so it's entertaining for me

yup it’s awful, the developers either have amnesia or they switch the teams up every year. in this case it’s like zenimax forgot what warden was like for PvPers (unplayable) before they gave us the Arctic Blast buff… now they’re undoing it by gutting Arctic Blast again.

Ice Wardens (PvP) got the nerf hammer with that Piercing Cold change.

how so? you still have the 6% dmg increase and now can run dagger for more crit chance, you are still using ice abilities so you are still an ice warden but your dps should be higher

@@vitortoniolli6646 i am speaking of pvp ice warden. They were a bit overtuned. Now, the damage bonus is only 8% and you have to drop build to below 30k health to get the bonus. It's pretty significant.

@@mufasafalldown8401 one could answer that at least now warden don't need to use frost stave, and can use a defensive backbar with more block mitigation, as well as a frontbar with more damage inflicted, it's a clear buff in my opinion, and you should try looking it that way (the 30k limit is very low tho, hope it change but if not we'll deal with it)

My buddy had a berserk ice tank. A 12% reduction in power is huge! He only plays in pve mind you. The arctic winds ability is totally JACKED now for both pve and pvp. That can not stick. I'm pretty sure it won't as that change was massively unwarranted and not needed. Take the freaking dot off if you have to, but the stun and burst heal based on weapon and spell damage needs to stay.

@@fourme7690 buddy frequently emperor on warden. 40k+ health ice warden that absolutely slaps. It is a massive nerf.... There is no way in hell he is going to drop below 30k to use that passive. Especially with the nerfs to Deaths Embrace. Losing 10-15k health on top of the loss of 20% damage mitigation at low health... the build got gutted lol. Definitely not a buff 😅

Sorry im doubled up on this question but ehy did you choose venomous claw and engulfing flame combo over their morphs? Would the scaling fire heal not be more beneficial, or does it not help as much because of the magma shell?

Losing the ability to generate ultimate out of combat really sucks for necros. The last thing necromancers need is a nerf. Why take a few steps forward then 1 back???

probably because in PvP you can just hide and build up your ulti passively and get back into battle again with a fully charged ulti to drop on your enemies. Bombers and gankers like to do this.

They want people off of Necros and on to other classes so you make a new character or go back to an old one and have to catch up with the new meta. Nothing ZOS does is about being fair, it's maximizing your time in the seat so they can make money. They don't care about PvP or PvE. Just sit and play more.

Hi I just recently got into eso again after many years of taking a break..I have built up a arcanist and loving it but does the new update make it a less valued DPS moving forward? If anyway can share their wisdoms I will appreciate it.

@@gudhlef then you lose the damage buff via Piercing Cold and access to the Glacial Presence passive and the stun. basically wardens are awful now

@@juuts4 One of the worst burst heals in the game if it’s for yourself. Costs too much with a mediocre tooltip + we will no longer have a stun or access to the glacial presence passive. The only viable option is buying the DLC and using Healing Soul lol

I was looking at the major heroism trample as also another valid option to proc Powerful assault if you didn't need razor caltrops or resolving vigor since its under the assault skill line. Looking forward to trying things with it.

Them nerfing the resource restore from the Druid script when using the Soul Grip or whatever annoys the hell out of me, I was happy to have a really good pull that didn't drain my sustain when needing to get all the adds. It seems every time tanks get something good, ZOS has to take it away, it's like ZOS has to make our jobs even more difficult. Any step forwards for us ends up being like a we're on a treadmill that they keep turning the speed on higher and higher even when we're exhausted and can't keep up. And before someone says to use the VB set, I know I can use that but it doesn't have the range to pull in all the enemies that like to stand far away, not to mention I'm on console and don't get to stop to switch sets very often cause people don't care to and I prefer keeping Puncturing Remedy on my front bar because of that.

What would you use on your infinite archive tank instead of drakes rush? I was thinking one of the below - Arkasis's Genius - drink potion you and group gain 44 ultimate Champion of the Hist - gain minor heroism at all times

sth like Olorime/Runecarver/Ice Furnace if you want more dmg, Heartland Conqueror for even more ulti gen or Kagrenac to res even faster, but I'm just speculating for now

NB was already a very strong tank, now even stronger. Still miss the old dark cloak though... Now I use resolving vigor instead.

@@DapperPeanut The main complaint is they don't bring much in terms of unique buffs to the group as some other classes, but they're plenty good at surviving and debuffing enemies. And they have Refreshing Path a great skill for both group/self healing and utility. Helps with running fast through dungeons.

Developers do not want balance. They want to keep fluctuating the meta to force players into new classes to keep the hamster wheel moving along. It's not about player equality and playability, it's about keeping butts in the seats to maximize profits. Any notion that one day they'll figure it out is beyond fantasy.

Can't stand that skill.. I use a 10s rotation refreshing the 2 necro pets and armor every 10s = almost 2 ulti per second. BB is just so unreliable and annoying

@@Bignuke87 Maybe we differ because you're viewing it as a taunt. It's more useful to see it as a chain (imho), which also converts mag to stam and applies major cowardice/vitality. The soft taunt is just a bonus, and the taunt duration is mostly irrelevant since you want proper taunts for bosses (i.e. Frost Clench & Runic Sunder) and since trash dies before the taunt will end. The fact that many high-end DK tanks switched to this from their best-in-game class chain shows just how strong this skill is. I would much rather its resource return was not nerfed, but there's no doubt that it was super strong! Also - it sounds like you're using Runic Embrace on your arcanist tank. Obviously, that's not a wrong choice if you feel you need the self-healing, but Runic Sunder offers so much more (imho) - 2.2k armour for you and bonus penetration for your DDs. EDIT: He deleted his comment.

I just wish ZOS would stabilize skill/gear/class effectiveness so they can focus on other game aspects. It's exhaustibg keeping with big changes every 3-6 months. Yeah, the vamp change might have been overdue, but still it's tiresome. Why not add the grappling hook capability to all zones or houses even!! Stuff like that.

Templar and necro are still unusable for competitive pvp(or any pvp). sorc and NB are top tier and getting buffs. Amazing. Just amazing.

I can't say they are unusable. With Jerall and just Blastbones and right choiced other skills and sets, you can actually kill even meta sorcs and NB. I really don't know why you mentioned nightblades, especially after so much nerfs. They are OP only because rookies don't know about impen trait and Rallying Cry + Resilience (yeah sometimes ppl do use CP for that too). Also let's not forget about Sea Serpent's Coil. Basically without crits NB can't do anything to you, if you don't struggle with uptimes on your defensive skills. At the end, if you compare for example meta sorc, DK and Necro with good exp + right sets, it will be endless fight and especially Templar, because it has ez to use Cleanse. And by endless fight i mean for real endless, before someone make a mistake or be greedy for kill and get nuked

nerf warden artic for what?? that skill is already dirt. then on top of that we are in a tank meta but got rid of damage from ice staff that made the class felt unique. but got sorc class mastery hitting like a truck lmao idiot devs

@leatherDarkhorse I definitely agree eso tier dev work is well in the realm of brain rot, but I disagree with there not being a point to how they balance, all the balance changes since about 2017 have been to make it so there is always less work for the devs by removing player agency and thus entertainment value from the game. For example, look at the changes to the undeath passive, it cuts the builds that are effective in PVP down from somewhere in the several hundreds down to around 12 or so. That way the devs only have to work with 12 basic setups relating to pvp. Additionally, I think it’s pretty evident from the patch notes what their intention is, when you realize that every dev note explanations in all patch notes are them simply saying the direct and exact opposite of the truth.

Honestly, I see it now a forced thing on pvp. Who doesn't want 10% damage reduction for absolutely nothing? Even in pve? Overall, it does need a rework for pve content. The mist ability is far too weak in comparison to other aoe abilities, for example.

@@TheAlphaOmegaX3 Totally agree with you, not so much with Umbra326; nerfs are mostly undesirable for those using the thing, and balance is always a challenge in a MMO, but I like the Undeath change and also wish for more fine tuning on the Vamp kit to be able to shine in more niche choices of playstyle for both pve and pvp (so far its been just pvp and a tiny niche of pve tanks) I kinda love and hate the current mist form, it feels great to play, it does have good uses on both pve and pvp, but the damage overall doesnt fit any reasonable pve build as is. Thats... sad

ESO is an embarrasing bugfest that ZOS doesnt care to fix as long as you keep shoveling money at them. You cant even pvp in cyrodiil cause the lag spikes will eat your inputs. This game is barely more than the failure fallout 76 was, and by the same people. Don't waste your money on this horrible game black desert is better
