7 years and only now have I realized that the reason Ned looks like he just cracked the case when Gendry tells him his mother had blonde hair is because it means that, as Jon Arryn put it, "the seed is strong", and, like Robert, and unlike his mother, Gendry has the Baratheon black hair. This makes Ned realize that Cersei's children are almost certainly not Robert's. Of course, he didn't need to see Gendry to be sure of that, but it's the confirmation that gets him thinking seriously about it.
@sounsure91084 жыл бұрын
TheTotalmuffin in fact there is the infant girl a son from before he was to marry and gendry so three black haired children. And that no one in Roberts line had a not black haired child from a blonde ever. Renly and Stannis are supposed to be dark as well.
@rouskeycarpel14363 жыл бұрын
So Unsure Yea both Stannis and Renly have black hair is well.This is based off of real life since black hair is a dominant allele and blonde hair is recessive

I didn’t catch that till I read this post. That is crazy, this scene was much more important than him realizing he was roberts son.

I love how troubled Ned looked in a split second. Like he had the feeling he was seeing his old friend again. Book! Brienne was extremely shocked the first time she saw Gendry because she briefly believed he was Renly coming back from the dead. Both of them are spitting images of young Robert, and Cat identifies Mya Stone as Robert's bastard daughter as soon as she looks at her.
@spyrofan96818 жыл бұрын

will be my end but Jon's legitimization can only be done by a king. Now I agree, that the tyrells and martells would most likely want to support the targaryens seeing as they were their supporters during the rebellion. But before the white walkers come across the wall, I want their to be a true dynasty change.
@anobjectiveninja8 жыл бұрын
Asad the great Robb was the King in the North when Jon was legitimized.
@anobjectiveninja8 жыл бұрын
Asad the great The North may have become a part of the Seven Kingdoms once more, but I that's only as long as the Boltons remain in-charge. The Great Northern Conspiracy revolves around installing Jon "Stark" as the King in the North. And even if continues to be a part of the Seven Kingdoms, I think that Jon would still be considered a Stark since Robb legitimized him when he was still a king. And now that Jon is free from the Night's Watch and can actively take part in the War, even Stannis can legitimize him (assuming that Stannis is still alive in the books). Stannis had already offered to do so, and would be happy to extend the offer again if it means that the North would join him in his fight against the Boltons and the Lannister-Tyrell "alliance".
@asadb19908 жыл бұрын
will be my end when did robb stark legitimize Jon Snow? And Jon is suppose to have died by stabbing from the night's watch. Stannis may be alive but he doesn't really have much men (if any) and he killed off his family in the process so doesn't have much to live for. However, seeing as he is a Baratheon, he could rally some support and maybe take Gendry as his own (no one really knows Gendry so he could become his new child). And the Tyrells are pretty pissed from having their children arrested due to Cersei making deals with the High Sparrow. And Dorne may get pissed if Trystane Martell gets harmed from the backlash of Marcella's death.

But now this routine has become too obvious, everything goes bad and people already learned how to deal with it. Now i would be surprised if actually something good happens. For example i would be really satisfied if Gendry shows up again and maybe takes controll of the Stormlands ad a Lord, much like Jon is doing for the North. Indeed season 6 is surprising me every episode become once more the series has become unpredictable and that's what i like

@@goatlover6312 Maybe that was when Robert really started going downhill, the sadness of not being a father to his true born children because he must've had some clue something was wrong with his children. I honestly believe that if Robert had met Gendry in the show, and in the books if Maya, Gendry, and Edric all lived in King's Landing and given the surname Baratheon Robert would've been a much better king

+B-poptosis How can a bastard has a better claim than a wife and mother of kings? Unless the R+C=G is true that is Cerci being Gendry's mother. Yes she had a 4th child. Infact a firstborn "a black-haired beauty" as she said in S01 E02 but he "passed away" because she didn't want Robert to have an heir. She loved him so much (and how can a mother hate her firstborn!?) she didn't have him killed and she couldn't get far from him, so she would come disguised and sing to him "she had yellow hair". A yellow haired whore? That's unique. Look how Ned seemed very surprised when Gendry started talking about his mother.

@davidaston57732 жыл бұрын
Ned was a perfect example of GRR Martin making fantasy realistic. He was a honourable and kind soul but he wasn't ruthless enough. In real life ,heroes who have honor and do the right thing don't always live to see the end of the story. One of his biggest mistakes? Trusting people who used his trust against him so they could remove him. Simple fact; those who were smart would see him or anyone else as a serious threat. Ned was ONLY alive as long as Robert was alive. And it's not impossible his death was murder.
@rowanaforrest97922 жыл бұрын
Even though it makes for a lot less of a story, in reality it's better to die while still honorable than stay alive by being dishonorable.

If Gendry does become legitimized as a Baratheon, why would he want a servant to make him his weapons and armor when he can make his own by himself. Gendry would be the epitome of the self-made man starting as an unacknowledged bastard to becoming the new lord of Storm's End. That would be an epic turn in his story!

This just enforces the love Ned has for Robert. He immediately sees this kid as someone he needs to protect. This added to how warmly he greets Renly when arriving at King’s Landing and how he saw Stannis as the true rightful heir to the throne. Yes his decisions are mainly based on honor and what’s right but you can also tell that there’s a genuine want in him to see that Robert’s legacy and true family are respected and honored.
