The new Need for Speed has realistic looking graphics and sound. But the gameplay is lacking in excitement. Compared to the fun and excitement of Underground, this new game looks realistic but boring.

the old nfs tracks and world were so memorable, even after 1-2 plays its like forever in your mind. after nfsmw 2005 the tracks and world became so generic like its there just for the sake of it.

NFS U2 is a better comparison, and indeed, as someone actually made a video going over multiple aspects of gameplay: -Customization We already know NFS U2 wins. It had the most diverse (and quite frankly, over the top) customization options of all NFS games. If a 2004 game was able to pull this off, I cant see why a 2015 game can't. Not only was the customization insanely detailed, there were also many detailed tuning options, NFS 2015's options shadow in comparison. There was a dyno track, where you could use a certain preset for Circuit, Sprint, Drag etc, or you could custom tune tire grip, nitrous usage, ride heigh, suspension stiffness, ECU and Turbo settings could be changed for maximum or minimum torque output at RPM levels, etc -Gameplay Races of NFS U2 were much more diverse. There was your standard Sprint, Circuit, but there was also Drag, URL racing (Underground Racing League = Races on a legit track) Street X (races in a tiny court, full of extremely tight curves, you barely drove faster than 100 km/h) 2 types of drift competitions (another small court, with a slippery surface, and drift through streets of Jackson Heights)

NFS Underground 2 is the best IMO. Tune the car to look like you want, improve it's performance AND via Dyno you can change lots of things from suspension tightness to how much Turbo is used every RPM..

Even though NFS15 graphics are 'better', but the engine sound make it more boring than Underground, lack of bass.

Hate fucking "soap" in modern games. NFSU would look much better than 2015 with just updated textures. And YES, NFSU is just better game than 2015.

There is no doubt graphics are 100 better, but in the old NFS everything was so clear to see. In the new one, motion blur, fog and all the effects make it hard to see road and stuff.

Cars in NFS 2015 are so slow compared to Underground

Part one is like a painting or drawing while 2015 is like a photo. By that I mean part 1 had an art style focused around the theme with bright colors and lively looking people whereas 2015 is just realistic. I personally find realistic a tid bit more boring in this comparison. It's not about realism, it's about execution of your vibes and ideas when creating a masterpiece. That's why Picasso was better than some portrait artists.

NFS Underground was a breakthrough epic when it came out in 2003 since no other game came close to the graphic quality and car customization at that time. Today it still stands tall. PS2 era games forever!

Man NFS 2015 truly is awesome. It just expanded on the underground series :D Only thing sucks is a bit sluggish handling but once you hook up wheel... Magic happens.

I miss the PS2 era of racing games so much. I love the whole faded/dark pallet color scheme since I use it in drawings pretty often, but this... oh my god this reminded me of all the hours I put into Underground, Xtreme Racer Zero, Carbon, and so on. I miss the brightly colored tracks, the open highways full of traffic in the middle of the night, the crowds, the feeling of being in a living breathing city. NFS 2015 went the route of realistic visuals, and to give them credit they pulled it off. But now? As silly as it may sound, we should try pulling back to the days of giant glowing arrows, fluorescent crash barriers and cars that don't try to auto-steer for you.

If there's one insane thing nfs 2015 has that no other nfs game had before, is having a Honda car in it while also having police in it.

My god ... Back then in 2003 we had worse graphics , not realistic at all , but god fucking damn was it more fun to play . Today , evry company in every genre is trying to make things look as realistic as possible . The new NFS is boring to watch and i can't imagine the gameplay .

Should have used Underground 2 instead of the first one though. It is still the staple by which all other street racing games should be compared. Sure the graphics are a bit dated these days, but the game is still top notch. There are even tons of player created mods to add new cars to the game as well.

2015 sounds so much more realistic. Case in point: RX-7. Lookup videos of real RX-7 for comparison.

It is to say: NFS Underground was for 2003 a realy nice looking game. Special in comparison with Underground 2 and Most Wanted (that looking a little bit blurry). And the thing is, also if the graphic is in 2016 old, the games still are a lot of fun. Play them in the last weeks and they are still great.

NFSU1+2 were the best NFS games ever released. I have the best memories playing those games all night long on weekends or school holidays, while drinking endless amounts of coke and eating sandwiches. Best times ever.

I think nfs u was a revolution in terms of customisation, music and gameplay. One of the few games that gave you satisfaction and a rewarding experience between races, so well balanced (without glitches) and fun. I actually remember being disappointed with most wanted for not having that level of customisation, although it turned out to be better, in many aspects, than nfsu and nfsu2. I ve not played the new nfs yet, looks good but not as attractive overall.

the newest one pissed me off because I didn't have internet at the time I got it and could not go past the title screen to play a single player game I had to be connected online the whole time why? I sold it because I couldn't play it shit pissed me off so bad I ended up buying an Xbox to play midnight club l.a. because I loved that game as much as I love underground 1 and 2 point is ea is a fuck up when it came to the newest one and the characters in this game wer cringie as fuck I felt embarrassed going thru the cut scenes

NFS Underground Pros: - Customization - GOOD Physics - Story - Better Drag Race Events (to me anyway and I didnt care much for burnouts) - Characters - Unique Upgrades - Did not need to be connected online to play Cons: - Limited Car List - Graphics and Sound (this was made in the early 2000s so it's no big deal) - No cockpit view (which some of you want) NFS 2015 Pros: - Car list (more cars) - Updated Graphics and Sounds - Rain Effects - Free Updates and Content (which apparently has stopped now) - More performance options - Cockpit view Cons: - Story - Horrible Physics - No day time (this game is not considered Underground to Underground lovers) - Limited Customization options (though there are a few new options like canards and diffusers which are nice) - Online Connected Requirement (which should not even be in gaming period) - Wasn't a finished game when it came out according to a lot of people I'd play Underground anytime mostly because there's more customization options, better physics, better story mode, better drag race events (minus the burnout thing which I dont really care for), better characters (though Amy and Robyn are cute), you dont need an online connection to play UG and overall, I feel UG is more in people's hearts including mine because of the whole street racing culture and that UG 1 and 2 does a better job of it than NFS 2015. Who knows though, NFS 2017 might surprise people. Let's just hope that it's got 2 MUCH NEEDED requirements: one, to NOT be an online connection game, and two, to have better physics like the old NFS rather than 2015's NFS. Then we've got ourselves probably the best NFS in years since Hot Pursuit.
