Blue Velvet is a cover of a song which went to no 1 by Tony Bennett Lolita and Off to the Races are inspired by the novel Lolita. The line “Light of my life, fire of my loins” quoted in Off to Races is from the first line of the novel. You may also notice that Lana really likes the colour blue. It’s in a lot of songs.

Thank you for the context, it was a great cover, definitely makes sense why it reminded me of the 1950s. Is Lolita a good read? and I like how Lana plays with colors throughout her music

ugh ya never let me go 💛 and the fact that angels forever and hollywood and literally PARADISE weren’t on paradise i don’t understand because those songs are so good, paradise could have been a full album, and one of her best

One of the best Alternative Pop albums of all time. That’s the original deluxe version & the Paradise EP as well. It’s easily a NO skip album with B2D. The only miss for me is Yayo…. I don’t hate it, it’s just the only skip. Tops are all 16 songs on B2D Deluxe with #1 DP. On Paradise #1 is G&M.

I think for your lana reactions maybe it would be good to have the lyrics out so you can reference them or see what she's saying. Lana considers herself a poet first before a singer so I know she puts a lot into her writing
