Definitely think you should use the natural light. It will be fun playing around with it, and you have the knowledge to keep it balanced. DO IT!!!

Gotta figure out how to get those curtain closed and open at certain times... budget concerns mainly. I can hook up a curtain auto-opener thing to an alexia but it's costly.

My two cents is: Put a 40b that you were talking about in your video along that wall. Have a nice closed storage area. You can hang up your aqua plant tools. On the left and right side of your sliding glass door add a cube tank(s). Either same size or different cube sizes that'll compliment each other. No aquarium in front of your sliding glass door. No stacking tanks. Take out refrigerator too. An outside pond eventually will be beautiful to look out and see from in your gallery with a beautiful scaped yard of some colorful flowers. Put your seating area in the room too. Whatever you decide will be fun to see the transformation. You have a huge project in front of you. Edit: Your cat is adorable. I love cats but have a dog too.

Your cat is precious! That was an interesting skit. Your gaming history is profound! That's a beautiful (120) gallon tank. Oh UNS are the rimless glass. I'm learning! I looked that one up and they are to die for:-) Good you reached out for their sponsorship. My fish especially my Silver Dollars do not like light so I don't turn my led light on. I am sure they would not like glaring sun. The more tanks you have regardless of the size the more you are responsible for and the more equipment you will have to have. Plants love light but they have NO eyes. You yourself would not want to be propped up in front of a sliding glass door all day. Let's be humane about our fish. I see Chris Palmer sitting down in a darkroom. I would take my lead from him. Gardening and fish are (2) different both demanding disciplines. I know I'm a gardener. Converse with your MOST CONSERVATIVE and HUMANE fish buddies and follow their lead.XOXO

I doubt the fish would be affected by the sunlight... plus there would be more than enough hiding/shadowed places for them.

@@TheWaterBox Unfortunately the Silver Dollars were STAYING in a corner until I turned the light out. When I turned the light out they swam freely and If I were a fish I'd like to swim freely.

I dont have any luck with planted tanks yet but I'm not giving up lol. My old fish room I blacked out the windows so I could showcase the individual tanks when necessary. I am Interested in the ideas you have about the natural sunlight. I love the pond idea on the patio. The tank idea in that corner with plants growing out of the water would look awesome I think and beside that tank in both corners maybe palidariums at least till you can fill that whole wall with 1 large display planted angel or discus tank

If you could do something good with a 55, I think that would be very valuable, since scapers tend to avoid that size due to the depth. But, if you can show that they can still be scaped well and beautifully, that would be rad!

Well the thing is... at work they changed out a filter (one that fits under the the tank) so I took home the 304... since I have an extra filter now... it's gotta be used for SOMETHING! lol

I believe with all the other tanks, your going to become overwhelmed trying to balance a sunlight tank in the window. Also I think since its a aquascape gallery, it would be really nice to have a different element to the aquascape by looking out the window and seeing a different kind of aquascape, the pond. I believe friends and family would enjoy that more as well.
@TheWaterBox
@TheWaterBox 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your thoughts. That's one of the things that might be annoying it keeping it clean and balanced. Putting a tank at that window, it's going to get hit with tons of sunlight... and yeh, it'd be nice to sit there and look out into a pond and planted patio.

How about a paludarium in the corner or to the right and left of the discus tank? 👍 Or a long one opposite of the patio door against the wall

You could have an aquaponics system on the patio n have the fish tank able to be seen thru the glass door. Also I'd really like to see a windfall planted aquarium. Seen plenty of sandfalls and plenty of planted aquariums but no sandfalls in a planted aquarium(how to make one)

@@TheWaterBox it'll be challenging that's for sure. I was thinking more along the lines of dirt n cap with the look of a flowing river N ya do try I'd suggest using some gray spray foam, you can ruff it up after it drys a little to give it a more stone like look. Green aqua did that with their bonsai scape n it looks great.

I need suggestion I added cat litter as a substrate in my aquarium. But it seems that litter has alot of limestone in it or the clay is covered with lime. I have added seeds and made the water little wet. Now wondering will the seeds grow in it and will it be ok for the fish i have in bucket waiting for this aquarium to be filled with water. I have guppy, neon tetras and zebra danios. The cat litter i used is Thomas cat litter All natural. I did not Wash it before using

@@TheWaterBox Thanks for replying. Now i saw the seeds are germinating. I used carpeting plants, small and big leaf. Cow grass big amd small. The cat litter i used is made of clay which is covered with lime, when washed the clay is in yellowish and brownish color. But in the aquarium i added the cat litter without washing.
