Thank you for sharing. After you did the video on learning Ankara, I have been looking for something to do with them. I love the stitch. You make everything look so easy.

Maria, thank you for this very helpful video. I had a hard time seeing the details on the black thread and the video was often blurry. I sure enjoyed the happy birds singing!

Outstanding video Maria! Thank you so much. I appreciate you taking me all the way through 1 earring. I’ll post pictures when I finish earring #2. I love Ankara’s too. Since I’m new to tatting I find that not having to reverse the work really helps. I’ve had to toss too many half tatted pieces because of turning or not turning something the wrong way, grr. I watched your tutorial on reversing work also and thinking about it as turning the page of a book is a great tip. Thanks for all the great tutorials and sharing your knowledge. Keep them coming.

+Rita Muller thank you for your kind words. I do sometimes have to toss some tatting pieces specially and I am trying to come out with a new pattern. Keep practicing and you will know when to reverse your work. I do too love ankars.

I just finished the second earring and it came out beautiful. No confusion here on the top and bottom picots for the earring wires. You did a fine job explaining the whole thing. Can I get your recommendation on stiffening these pieces? Starch or glue? How did you stiffen yours?

First of all this is lovely work and you are great at showing the technique. I have a question: I believe I am using the same size yarn and needle that you do but my work comes out much smaller which makes it much harder to work with and also doesn't look as good. Is it possible that I am pulling too hard when I am closing my loops or doing something else wrong? Should I try a bigger needle? It would be great if you had any advice for a beginner :-)
@MariaPapia8 жыл бұрын
+Aludra1978 you are probably pulling too much. Do you have fb? You can send me a picture in a private message of your work, maybe if I see your work I help you figure out.
