Thanks for the video. Helped me a lot. I use a Neewer too. It came messed up, so I need to get a new one. This one looks very nice and your tutorial was really nice.

As a real estate agent, I just upgraded from a Canon Rebel t3 when the screen failed last summer to a Rebel T8i. Huge difference in camera's ability. I am strongly considering this stabilizer, as the person who shoots my video is not very good and he just raised his prices from $300-350 to $400-500. There is no way I am paying $250 per hour for shooting and $50 per hour for driving.

I've been shooting video since 1983 and this is the best stabilizer I've seen, especially for the price. If I hadn't watched your video, I woouldn't have bought it because the price was so low that I figured it had to be crap. It's great to be wrong (sometimes). lol

Agreed Tom! Great stabilizer for the price. There is a little learning curve to use it properly. Thanks for checking out my video Tom.

Nice video-just got one and I'm playing with it. It offers good stability but with more of a handheld feel than a gimbal, somehow. Almost the best of both worlds. I didn't expect that and I'm surprised and pleased.
@UpsideDownMtn3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, when I used a gimbal it didn’t always focus on the subject I wanted. The stabilizer takes some time to learn but I think I prefer it.

I have the Weebill S for work and bought a Neewer Aluminum stabilizer for $36 shipped from Amazon. Just bought it for fun to see how good it is. Also bought a Merlin Steadicam for $55 shipped from adorama. Did my first test video yesterday and it's pretty cool.

I love my Neewer DSLR Stabiliser. It takes awhile to get it setup, yes and awhile to get good footage but like most things it takes practice. I haven't had mine that long but notice I improve every time I go out even if it's just a bit more. I found out it's a bit tricky to use in the wind and end up with unintended wobbles but of course that's where editing in post comes in. I also have the Neewer shoulder rig and it also takes time and patience to get smooth pans etc. It will not let you walk and shoot simultaneously but it is not for that unless you want a hand held look which it will provide. I did a bit of inverted with the Stabiliser to see what it's like and it will do it. I think if you used the flip out viewfinder you could see better where it is pointing but of course you would have to reset it to compensate for the weight of the viewfinder. Good Video I just came across it.

I know your comment is 2 years old but how do you feel about the Neewer shoulder stabilizer these days? I plan on getting one. Was actually going to get it today but decided on the stabilizer in the review and plan on getting the shoulder one down the road. Any tips for best usage with the Shoulder one?
@jamestremain81152 жыл бұрын
@@jankmedia1985 Hi Jank Media. My Neewer shoulder rig is still part of my Media setup. It provides a solid base for photography and video. I modded mine with the off set adapter so the view finder is in front of your eyes and the shoulder pad is on the shoulder. I added the solid metal counter weight and an eye piece that goes over the viewfinder and blocks the sun..I also added the follow focus. I found it to be a great product. Let me know if this helps at all.

I've had my Neewer carbon fiber a little over a year and think it's awesome! If the wind is blowing that's the only problem..
@thxylivx3 жыл бұрын
You’re supposed to be filming with your fingers gently resting below the handle. That stops it from spinning, you can pan, etc
@mercymourning38534 жыл бұрын
quick tip! The Sony a6000 is a little too light for this to operate correctly unless you get custom weights for the glidecam! What you can do is put a smallrig cage on the camera and add attachments to make the weight balance out ! :D
@UpsideDownMtn4 жыл бұрын
I just got a Canon M50 with lens and it weighs around 1.1lbs. I have not tried it with the stabilizer yet, it might be too light also.
@mfreeman3133 жыл бұрын
I put an A6300 and kit lens on it and that was my experience too. I've found at least in my first tests I can get it working reasonably with no weights at all and the base extended about six inches. Probably not ideal because more weight would offer more inertia, but OK for practicing I guess.

Just got one of these. All set up as you suggest but can't get that drop to 2 or 3 seconds. Drops very quickly. Canon RP body with 24-70 f4 L lens. I would have thought a bit of friction on the bearing might help with the swaying problem some mention. Very informative video. Regards from the UK.

Hey Peter, it takes a while to get the setup right depending on the camera & lens. There are other videos out there that go deeper into setup. It takes patience to set up and patience to learn how to use properly (how to hold, walk, etc. with the stabilizer). Good luck

Great vid and real example. I'm recording some recipes for my channel and I just want the camera steady. I imagine you can't do any type of tilt shots? Am I correct? I may just need a tripod. My Joby 3k creeps down with my 70D.
@UpsideDownMtn4 жыл бұрын
Hey Steve, if you’re doing recipes in a kitchen I don’t know if you would want this stabilizer. It’s tall and my obstruct you’re b-roll shot angles. To answer your question though, yes you can tilt with it. Search for camera angles with the stabilizer on KZfaq. I know some guys have “how to” videos for different angles/shots with a stabilizer like this.

Thanks for the video. I do have several critiques to help, but only if you are interested in my opinions. Keep the videos coming. The main thing is that because of how slowly you talk, it might be good to show the footage with and without the stabilizer right away to keep us interested. Talking slowly is fine but it could be a turn off for some people anxious to get the info that they clicked your video for and not interested in a long drawn out introduction. The sound of the outside video was bad. Keep making videos.

Having it balanced is super important! Having the strap or anything like that off helps also. You probably have it down now by this reply, it just takes practice! This stabilizer works very well I think and not too heavy like the bigger ones..
@Moses_Kanneh5 жыл бұрын
The horizontal axis looks off in the video when using the stabilizer. The horizontal axis handheld was way better but too shaky. Is that a balancing issue with the stabilizer?
@UpsideDownMtn5 жыл бұрын
Hi Moses, it takes time properly setting up the stabilizer.
@Moses_Kanneh5 жыл бұрын
Upside Down Mtn yeah, I was just wondering. Because a lot of the videos I saw with this Neewer stabilizer seemed to be tilted a bit on the horizontal plane. I’m going to try it out and see for myself, but really only saw one video where it was not a problem. Not sure if it was just the users.
@UpsideDownMtn5 жыл бұрын
Getting it balanced takes some time and even how you hold/ walk with it is different. They call it the “ninja walk”. 🤣

Upside Down Mtn update: I just received the Neewer Stabilizer and was able to balance a Sony a6500/w a sigma 16mm f1.4 on it. It works. And you are right it definitely takes time to figure out how to handle it. Definitely a good product for the price.

Do you prefer the carbon fiber over aluminum, or does it matter except for price?
@UpsideDownMtn4 жыл бұрын
I have the carbon fiber model and I don’t think the weight is much of a difference between the aluminum. Only the main tube is carbon fiber. I think it’s more of a visual aesthetic than anything else.
