Me and my mother in law very friendly for almost 15 years, but when there is an issue, she took her daughter's side and ditched her own son, my hubby very badly.. after 15 years living with her like my own mom in a joint family, i realised that mother in law can't be our mother at any point.. it's a myth.. till situation dint arise, they will behave good, but when there is a situation they will definitely become mamiyar.. infact they see their own son as daughter in law's husband.. and treat them differently compared to their daughter..

U are absolutely rt... Even I was in joint fly for several yrs... And further i was nursing my mil mom... When i refused my sil tld it's ur karma... Though being educates unable to raise voice against these sister in law's... Finally mil mom expired in 2019 and for her rituals my mil just like that spilled words as to serve for my mother only we got married to my son.... Fm there i to my charge to back fire her.. now after 3 yrs I am living peacefully..

Same here. She said nasama poiduvernga nu. After that, I lost many things. My second baby girl got expired at 2021 . she was prematured baby. Then my husband's open heart surgery, and lot of health issues happened to me. Still its paining a lot. Worst lady ever I have seen. I don't want to be with her at any cost

Yeppa! The price young women pay for marrying sons of such ladies . Dowry, MIL competing , trashing, being bossed around by in-laws, in-laws bringing frictions into married life, damaged self-worth, lack of appreciation for all the menial labour done, mainly such cheap Politics that suckle peace away, someone else dictating the ways of our lives ….all these for love from husband. No wonder divorce rates are up & live-in relationships are chiming in. Both men & women are losing faith in the institution of marriage. Why can’t married couple be a separate branch of the same tree & function independently understanding each other’s needs & derths? Also noticed how they address their sons as “en pillai”, “kolandhai” they never expressed a dot of love for DILs?

Glad to see a sensible mother in law. Proves formal education has nothing to do with how sensible a person is. Like my loving mil. Love her to bits. This emotional blackmail for son's attention is the very reason why people want to move into individual homes, however small that space might be. These women are the very reason their child's life will get frustrating and spoilt. Thankful for my mil who praises even a simple tea i make for her❤❤
