I read all these comments as if it isa war for the declaration of the better between Asha Bhonsale and Noor Jahan....both exquisite and incomparable with classics no one can replicate. Music is to be enjoyed and the poetry to be cherished. Since they are both highly accomplished singers, anyone trying to make comments of comparison are fooling themselves. What they both have achieved is too large for nobody’s like us to comment!

I am in 80s and have heard Noor Jehan sometime 40 years ago. She was a wonderful singer and now I am hearing Asha. She too is great and many a times better than her sister. Pronunciation is very correct. Greatly talented.

They both form a binding force that produces nothing but LOVE and brotherhood for the people of these two unfortunate contries. Their voices unite us and spread love. Who is here in 2021.......? We should be grateful of Vividh Bharti, Doodrdarshan to provide such a gems of non filmi songs, gazals and parallel cinema of 70's to 90's. These mediums always brought quality songs, ghazals, artists & movies in their various programs. This helped a lot to refine choice of individuals who wanted to have something different from masala entertainment. Do u agree..?

Sister of Maa Sarswati as the way Lata Ji sacrificed her whole life absolutely devoted to music, music and music. Howerver, Asha Ji has her own aura of music which shines through her excellency. Lata Ji was offrered Miraz-E-Ghazal to sing with Ghulam Ali Saab but she herself suggested Asha Ji's name. So they are not ordinary souls. God Bless.

FYI : When Madam Noor Jahan was at the age of 10 or 11 years old; Lata Jee, was the one who actually encouraged her and told her that one day she’ll be a great singer. Madam Noor Jahan, looked up to Lata Jee throughout her music career.

I read many comments, perheps they are not knowing what is Music?What is Ghazal-singing?So they are comparing... I admire both singers, Noorjahajee and Ashajee. Noor Jehan sang this composed by Mohsin Raja. This is in raag pahadi. All versions sound great. Lyrics and raag of this gazal makes its unique. I wait some artist to compose & try in a different raag.
