We technically don’t know if there were digidestined in the past in this series. In the original we only knew after Genai told us. The stone tablets could’ve just existed and were created along with the digital world from the beginning. All the Digimon just refer to them as the chosen ones that they’ve heard of from legends. Digimon also talk less in this series. I wish we had a genai like character in this series. Imagine them seeing another human that’s not a digidestined.

Hmm. Interesting theory. But I believe that it has something to do with Real World and Digitsl World for creating something negative and terrible to turn Negamon to go rogue in the first place. Could be the abuse of its positive power or something that drove him mad to turn all Digimon to start the Ancient Holy Ear.
