In this Q&A-style video, teachers Mark and Lovisa from Coffee Break Swedish answer Coffee Break learner Sören's question about how to use the words "inte", "ingen", "inget" and other similar words in Swedish. We answer Sören's question by providing example sentences to show how to use these little words, which help to negate sentences.
Here are the example sentences included in this video:
• Jag vill inte spela fotboll.
• Han går inte hem.
• Hon köper inte mjölk.
• Det finns ingen boll.
• Hanna har inget husdjur.
• Pojken har inga pengar.
• Vem pratar du med? Ingen!
• Vad gör du? Inget!
Make sure you watch the full video to hear a full explanation about the contexts in which we use these words. We've provided subtitles in English which can be turned on using the Subtitles/CC button.

Hej Mark och Lovisa! Could you/would you ever say "har inte en/ett" with a noun rather than "har ingen/inget"?

Hello! In that situation we'd have to add either "någon", "något", or "några" - "jag har ingen bil" becomes "jag har inte någon bil", "jag har inget jobb" becomes "jag har inte något jobb", and "jag har inga syskon" becomes "jag har inte några syskon". You add "någon" for en-words, "något" for ett-words, and "några" for plural as soon as you want to use "inte" instead of "ingen"/inget"/"inga". Hope this helps!

It is interesting that Ingen is pronounced as ING YEN so the g letter has two sounds… the final g in Ing and the beginning Y for Yen. Same goes for inget as ING YET!! and the Swedish k has a SH SOUND😎🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪❤️❤️
