I watched the eclipse back in 2017. It was an amazing experience to see the glowing ring of the sun, the stars and planets all around and the deep dark night that all only lasted a few minutes. I had to travel a few hundred miles for it and even stayed a night at a hotel. Now I just drive about 45 minutes deeper into the path of totality that I'm already inside of to get more time. The clouds are the only concern I have for this eclipse.

Here's someone's description of how the light around you on earth appeared. - "Having seen 95%ish partial eclipse, I can attest that the sky absolutely gets dark in that weird way where it’s dark like at dusk or dawn but the light is still blue-dominated instead of the reddish hues of sunrise and sunset. The best comparison I’ve heard for it was a “day for night” filter, except in real life.". /. This description of how it looks when it darkens from the solar eclipse is spot on! Another thing I noticed was how we saw cloud shadows on the ground that looked like small fast waves. By the time I got my camera ready to video it, it stopped! :~(.

Our moon is one of the rare moons that crashed into the planet it orbits around before it started orbiting. A mars size planet named Theia crashed into Earth and exploded, leaving part of its remains to forever be part of earth, and the rest orbited earth as debris rings until it coalesced and compacted as our moon. Through the biogeochemical cycles, the elements (as in periodic elements) that are the Earth, including those that came from Theia, become part of the geosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere, and biosphere every day. We being heterotrophs of the biosphere eat the plants and animals of the rest of the biosphere and those same elements become our literal physical composition. What you are made of right now is Earth and Theia. You and that moon have a lot more in common than you realize. You are the earth, and part of the earth is the moons former self. SCIENCE!
