This is SUCH a masterpiece, and the true story of Austrian born Paul Wittgenstein, who lost 3 brothers to suicide, and had his right arm amputated in WW1. He became a famous Pianist, who played with just his left hand.

Such a sorrowful, melancholy place the words seem to come from; but the blow is so softened by his voice and the lovely guitar play... a right paradox, and I'm glad of it.

Lyrics Hey there, now, did I hear your voice Ringing out in the early morning? Did I hear you singing right through the night Out there while I was rolling? Did you see my brother lying in the ditch? Knuckles all scraped and the powder on him Passing like a shadow right through the night Through my days and through my mind Love is dead and truth is empty It won't heal and it won't save me See that girl in the checked white skirt I'll hold her tonight and maybe it'll work Love is all A white dove in the snow Passing through Like a bright new moon Mama froze Women's blood once flowed Death runs deep in this family Write your song for the left and only Lost my arm in the First Great War I wish I'd never learned that piano before You see my brother drinking from the glass They say he died with his eyes wide open Poison flowing right through the veins Glass of milk fell from his hands Love is all (Love is all) Find the right way home Time is all (Time is all) Find the right way home Powder moon (Powder moon) Find the right way home Time is all (Time is all) Find the right way home Hey there, now, did you hear my voice Ringing out in the early morning? Did you hear me singing right through the night? I wonder if you'll ever get tired of this Death runs deep in this family Write your song for the left and only Lost my arm in the First Great War I wish I'd never learned that piano before I wish I'd never learned that piano before Love is all (Love is all) Find the right way home Time is all (Time is all) Find the right way home Love is all (Love is all) I'll find the right way home Time is all (Time is all) Find the right way home

Searching with mispelt titles of this song brought me to some very odd places. Glad I finally spelled it correctly.

This Generation's: be it Late Baby Boomer or Millennial's Nick Drake? it's simple as that...

I listened to about ten of his songs on KZfaq. His web site boasts of a '3 Star Review of Neil's first Brushfire Records release, "Oh! Mighty Engine"', but the review points out more of its flaws than its good points. Mojave 3's 'Spoon and Rafter' gets 3 out of 10 from Uncut. Rolling Stone mentions one of his songs, but they're more interested in the fact that he wrote it as his marriage was breaking up. Never marry a mope!

"Lost my arm in the First Great War, wish I'd never learned that piano before" Misery despair regret impotence. Then he tries to inject hope: "Love is all, find a right way home" But with a falling cadence, imparting misery despair regret and impotence, again. And that long falling cadence is his signature, along with the lack of vocal variation and that 70 BPM rut. One mood, one BPM, one style, one trick pony with a miniscule audience of mopes. Now, go compare him to Damien Rice's range.

Dude you're the shittiest sounding person I've heard in quite a while. What the fuck have you done artistically in your life that tops this?

"People like him, he is here, he can write really good songs and has a great voice." Agreed, though it's only a small number of people. His problem is they all have the same downer payload. Listening to one or two is ok, but playing four in a row like that turns most people off. He could do a lot better if he put more contrast into his sets, and his manager needs to tell him that.
