@nick081980 the aircooled vw engine is much lighter than the suby's, thats why you don't see alot of those swaps being used in racing. Plus, the vw engine is aircooled, no head gaskets, so when you turbo a bug motor, they typically handle it pretty good. On most watercooled engines you would still have to worry about blowing a head gasket.

Straps help with wheelspin too which in turn helps to tune a car consistently :)

The chain never really stands up tight like a banjo string, like you'd think it would at full power. Something else appears to be holding it back. Somebody is going to get hurt.

he is probably pulling way more HP. ive seen N/A 2300cc pull around 200 hp so im sure this engine can pull around 250-300hp. its a light car and torque curves are probably insane so he is probably never going to get all that power down in the first place.

God, people that watch these need to learn a little thing called power to weight ratio. Yes, it might only have 168 hp, but beetles weigh squat. My 62 only has about 100 horse, but only weighs about 1800lbs. It can outrun pretty much any newer mid size car with close to 200 horse, but they also weigh about double. A friends bug with around 150 horse runs consistent low 13's in the quarter, and another friend has nearly 300 in his bug and runs mid to high 11's. This car has a LOT more in it.

i reckon they should put subaru outback motors in these vw. i guess they would fit use the H6 with Twin Tubo .... ohhhh .....yeah i reckon you could get well over 300 kw at the wheels with these . has anyone ever turbo'd a H6

get a non tightass dyno,most dyno's handle 600hp without wheelspin problems

This dyno session is obviously done by rookies. I doubt it was only a 4,ooo rpm pull. Once you put a decent load on the rings, it is already broken in. The rings either set in or you get blow by. high school kids see it as a cool run, real racers see it as a weak session.
