Artist: Neil Sedaka / Song: Bad Blood
Neil Sedaka performs the song "Bad Blood" in Canada in 1981.
LYRICS
It could've been me
But it was you
Who went and bit off
A little bit more
Than he could chew
You said that you had it made
But you been had
The woman no good
No how
Thinking maybe the blood is bad
Bad (bad) blood (blood)
The woman was born to lie
Makes promises she can't keep
With the wink of an eye
Bad (bad) blood (blood)
Brother, you've been deceived
It's bound to change your mind
About all you believe
From where I stand
It looks mighty strange
How you let a woman like that
Treat you like small change
I don't understand
What you're lookin' to find
The only thing bad blood do
Is mess up a good man's mind
Hear me talkin' now
Bad (bad) blood (blood)
The bitch is in her smile
The lie is on her lips
Such an evil child
Bad (bad) blood (blood)
Is takin' you for a ride
The only thing good about bad blood
Is lettin' it slide
Doo-ron, doo-ron, di di
Dit, dit, do-ron-ron
Doo-ron, doo-ron, di di
Dit, dit, do-ron-ron
Doo-ron, doo-ron, di di
Dit, dit, do-ron-ron
Bad blood, talking 'bout bad blood
Doo-ron, doo-ron, di di
Dit, dit, do-ron-ron
Doo-ron, doo-ron, di di
Dit, dit, do-ron-ron
Doo-ron, doo-ron, di di
Dit, dit, do-ron-ron
Bad blood, here we go
Bad (bad) blood (blood)
The bitch is in her smile
The lie is on her lips
Such an evil child
Bad (bad) blood (blood)
Is takin' you for a ride
The only thing good about bad blood
Is lettin' it slide
The only thing good about bad blood
Is letting it slide

Holy shit - the trumpets on this make my hair stand on end! He looks so joyful too! Until 9am this morning I’d never heard this song ever - was watching clips of the 70s show which I’d only discovered last night. Lol! Otto! Thats how I got here! I had long forgotten this song until I heard it watching reruns of 70's Show! Love this song & never knew who sang it. Not at all surprised though, Neil was an extraordinary singer & song writer, VERY VERY TALENTED!!! Love the song too. Gonna have to look up the words now though. I grew up in the 70's but some of the songs, I had to just make up the words! Lol! Like this one & I think my friends & I all sang diff words to "Wrapped up like a douche in the stroller in the night"! ROFL!!! What fun we had bk then!

Getting Elton John to sing back up on this song was brilliant. It probably had a lot to do with the success of this song originally. Not that Neil can't sing in his own right, it's just the combination of Elton singing the backing was a great combination. A lot like Rockwell and Michael Jackson singing "Somebody's Watching Me". It's not the same without Michael. Like this song isn't the same without Elton in the background.
@powerpopaholic876
@powerpopaholic876 4 жыл бұрын
Agreed that there is NOTHING like Elton's tone in the upper ranges in the period, and made this song EXTRA solid. Sounds Great. Actually, this was Neil Sedaka's 2nd album on Elton John's label (Rocket Records), and the first of new new music (the first was a compilation of songs from three albums that had only been released in the UK). Elton says he only sings backup on artists he really likes... and he was a Sedaka fan, even before signing him to Rock Records. So there you go - Elton was thrilled that he landed Neil! (And Neil didn't have a contract, so probably was glad to land the deal with Rocket), and Elton was happy to sing backups. Cool stories, (imo), and GREAT music. makes me feel good..

@@magneto7930 No doubt. Neil has a great voice and he's a great entertainer/musician in his own right. But your right, having Elton in the back ground vocals added to this great hit from the 70's. I remember hearing it on the radio all the time when I was a young boy. Elton was doing quite a few "duets" back then. "Don't go Breaking My Heart" with Kiki Dee comes to mind too which was around this time too. Elton is one of the greatest musicians of our era without a doubt. He's been going for 50+ years and he's still creating some incredible music.

Elton John on back up vocals for this song was big news. It caused people to be interested in it. And it was a hit. I agree that it would probably have been a hit without Elton. It’s that good. Anyway, this fantastic song revived Neil Sedaka’s career. He’s a very talented man. But his success at up to that time, 1975 .... was with quite formulaic 50’s and 60’s pop songs for teens of that old era.

Neil Sedaka sure knows how to entertain with those moves in 'Bad Blood.' It's a showstopper!

true natural talent, not "the" electronic, distorted vocals crap of today. Exactly how many of todays music stars, without all the electronic studio backup would be music stars? IMHO NONE!
