Back to the 1980’s. What a song! 1983 this was recorded by Journey. I’ve never played it before, and it came on the radio the other day and I thought to myself ‘I’m sure I can play that’. So, today I sat down at the piano and listened to the song a few times - and here it is. I recorded it a few moments ago - you can see 6pm on my watch. It’s 6:15 now.
Again, I’m not using any sheet music - I simply listened to the song and worked out the notation and chords. I’m playing if in the written key of B major.
To try and make it as authentic as I could, I had to do the piano intro. The problem with this intro is that the riff continues as Steve Perry (or Arnel Pineda nowadays) sings the lyric - I only have two hands, so I picked up the melody and then kept coming back to the intro riff. At the end of the first verse, I had to bring in Neal Schon’s guitar - and I’m definitely missing the drums.
Anyway, this is a little more rock piano than I’m used to doing - I have to hit those notes hard in the intro to bring out the resonance of the strings. I do hope you like it. If you do, let me know.

I’m engaged to a trucker, so he’s not a music man, but he’s all over the US. Every two or three months we see each other. We were separated for three years and it wasn’t until 2018 that we finally reunited. I’m looking for the perfect song to walk down the aisle to. This song fits everything! However this song always makes me cry, lol. I’m crying right now even.

This song is my momma and daddy’s song when they were kids it’s a blessing to be here to enjoy and share the same music as them. Time moves on but god music stays the same. You can have a memory from the 90s and it could be 2067 and this song will forever be the same. music is a time machine

It’s a piano cover which includes the melody, as all covers do. Search for Faithfully piano part instead of piano cover if you wanna see what he plays instead of the melody.
