I think the backlash back then had more to do with misguided expectations that had built over years combined with the fact that a lot of people misunderstood what happened at the end. Most people who watched the show after it was over seemed to like the ending. I've yet to encounter someone who can understand why the ending produced so much anger.

When you get to the finale, please make sure you're watching the Uncut version (104 min). Uncut is the one that was shown on broadcast. But later it had to be cut into two parts for syndication, missing nearly 20 min of content. I believe Disney+ has only Part 1 and 2 version, while Netflix has both versions.

Sayid isn’t dead. If he was, Hurley could see his ghost or Miles hear his last thoughts. The healing water just took more time than before because Jacob is dead. There must be a little light of life inside him when Dogen declared Sayid was dead. Not enough to be visible, but enough to start the processus of healing. There are other apparent deaths in LOST. Charlie in S1E11, the daughter of Claire’s psychic in the episode "?". Hiroyuki Sanada, who plays Dogen, was the hero of one of my chilhood’s tv shows. When I watched this for the first time I wasn't super sad about Sayid dying or not in the temple because he is still alive in some capacity in the other timeline or multiverse whatever you call it. Too bad Juliet is not back but you can have comfort that she is probably alive in the other multiverse but think about what she might be going through. before she came to the island she was in a bad state dealing with her ex husband controlling her. If he didn't get hit by that bus which kind of set her free although she went to the island and had to deal with Ben's psycho butt.

I'm trying to feel sympathetic for Sawyer. I really am. But one of his worst traits has been on display since Juliet's death. Every time he experiences some kind of pain, Sawyer needs someone to blame so that he can respond with violence. He solely blamed Anthony Cooper for his parents' deaths, when Mr. Ford was really responsible. I mean . . . it wasn't necessary for Mr. Ford to respond to murder and suicide, was it? And his desire for revenge led him to murder an innocent man. Sawyer blamed Tom Friendly for shooting him and kidnapping Walt. Yes, Tom did kidnap Walt, but at Ben's order. Sawyer murdered Tom for Walt's kidnapping, but he never laid a finger on Ben for the same thing. How screwed up is that? He also blamed Tom for getting shot. But it was one of the Others on that boat who shot Sawyer . . . after he had pulled his own gun. Tom didn't have to say a word. Now Sawyer blames Jack for Juliet's death. But the plan to set off the bomb was Daniel's. And Juliet's decision to return to the island came from her insecurity over Sawyer and Kate's previous relationship. And Juliet would have survived if Stuart Radzinsky had not been drilling into the island's energy force and Sayid had set that bomb properly. But Sawyer has to solely blame Jack. One day, Sawyer needs to get over this bad habit of scapegoating and violence.
@ptitepeluche05
@ptitepeluche05 2 жыл бұрын
I agree with you. It's refreshing to see someone who can see past Sawyer's good looks and jokes. I still sympathize for him though at this point of the story. Juliet just died and anger is a normal stage of grief.
