"Let Your Love Flow" is the title of a pop song written by Larry E. Williams, a former roadie for Neil Diamond, and made popular by the American country music duo The Bellamy Brothers (1976). It was offered to Neil Diamond first, but he turned it down.
This record was a crossover hit in the United States, reaching Number One on the 1976 Billboard Hot 100 charts, #2 on Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks, and #21 on Hot Country Singles. It was also an international hit, landing on the charts in the UK, Scandinavia and West Germany, where the Bellamy Brothers' record spent five weeks at #1 followed by "Ein Bett im Kornfeld", a German language adaptation of the song recorded by Jürgen Drews, which spent the next six weeks at #1. In 2008 the song was used in an advert in the United Kingdom for Barclaycard. Subsequently, the song re-entered the UK Singles Chart and peaked at #21. It appeared in the 1980 Tatum O'Neal film Little Darlings and the 2008 period drama Swingtown.
The song has been covered by numerous other artists, notably Joan Baez, who included it on her 1979 Honest Lullaby album. Another re-recording by the Bellamy brothers with Gölä is included on the album The Greatest Hits Sessions.
There's a reason for the sunshinin' sky
And there's a reason why I'm feelin' so high
Must be the season when that
Love light shines all around us
So, let that feelin' grab you deep inside
And send you reelin' where your love can't hide
And then go stealin' through the
Moonlit nights with your lover
Just let your love flow like a mountain stream
And let your love grow with the smallest of dreams
And let your love show and you'll know what I mean
It's the season
Let your love fly like a bird on a wing
And let your love bind you to all livin' things
And let your love shine and you'll know what I mean
That's the reason
There's a reason for the warm sweet nights
And there's a reason for the candlelights
Must be the season when those
Love lights shine all around us
So, let that wonder take you into space
And lay you under its loving embrace
Just feel the thunder as it warms your face
You can't hold back
Just let your love flow like a mountain stream
And let your love grow with the smallest of dreams
And let your love show and you'll know what I mean
It's the season
Let your love fly like a bird on a wing
And let your love bind you to all livin' things
And let your love shine and you'll know what I mean
That's the reason
Just let your love flow like a mountain stream
And let your love grow with the smallest of dreams
And let your love show and you'll know what I mean
It's the season
Let your love fly like a bird on a wing
And let your love bind you to all livin' things
And let your love shine and you'll know what I mean
That's the reason
Just let your love flow like a mountain stream
And let your love grow

My wife passed away last week at a hospice set up at a friend’s house. Her friend had a playlist that included this song. I knew when I heard it that things would be ok. This has to be the greatest song to uplift you no matter how bad you’re feeling. I wonder if the Bellamy Brothers know how many people they have touched with this song. Thank God for it.

I rarely listen to the radio but my soul got woken up BIG TIME today after hearing this song for the first time in ages. I hardly ever cry but I suddenly found myself overcome with emotion, tears streaming down my face. 'Happy Tears'. It was a weird experience, but it at the same time so cleansing, and so uplifting. I have many many 'go-to' songs, but I now have a definite answer if ever my daughters ask me what my favourite song is. Majority of songs are for your ears and feet, but this song tickles your heart and soul! My mission in life is still to create a positive difference out there in the world, but now I've got a theme song to happily skip along to. How do you create a positive difference in the lives of others? EASY...Just Let Your Love Flow!

Accept Jesus Christ as your Savior and His Holy Spirit and the fact that He died on a cross for your sins, and came back to life 3 days later and you will go to heaven when you die. Yea, you will. All of the popular arts are subjected to a creativity wave that permeates cultures. Standards rise and fall inevitably. Trends always pass. Your statement could be true for some, ofc if you die before the next creativity spike, yea. But great music won't be over for mankind, but it just is for now. Well... unless we ALL die tomorrow, that is.

Music “ diversity “ (!whatever that is ) in the 80s fading Disco, fading New Wave , the music was so bad rock faded and rap ascended. Here in Holland I noticed one thing; a lot of people here say that they do not like country(rock) but when they hear a song like this, If I said you had a beautiful body, and The Eagles, most of them hum along. When this song hit the charts I was just a kid but even then this song made me feel euphoric. The song reminds me of grown-ups i looked up to and which I respected with their long hairs. A time when most people I knew were happy.

Just taught Freshman lit class, poetry unit, day 1 of the Spring semester and started them off with this beautiful song that I remembered in the shower... killed several birds with one stone (or let them fly?) Exact rhyme, slant rhyme, figurative language, compression of language (sunshinin' skies!)... I was so happy to have an excuse to play it! Broke them into groups for ice-breakers, asked them to find a song they all have in common. Thank you to whoever posted this -- it was a peppy, uplifting way to start the Spring! (Though they were all citing lyrics from Mack Miller, the Weekend, Yeezy and Ariana Grande !!!!)

This song is a classic - meaning it never gets old! It is timeless, and so uplifting. Takes me back to 1977 when I was getting off the night shift at work. I had tinted cars all night and was sweeping the shop. I opened the shop roll-up doors and the morning sun lit up everything and this song came over the shop music system. Those moments have come back to me many times, and made that morning magical!

The film also starred Matt Dillon and Cynthia Nixon. It's interesting how Nixon and McNichol have since come out as gay since the millenium and O'Neal has also started dating women. I'm guessing they were afraid back then of being ostricized by the industry, in 1980 homosexuality was still not mainstream and the movie studios were concerned about their image.
@Inkyabyss
@Inkyabyss 4 жыл бұрын
I like the relationship between Kristy and Tatum, each character "fronting" to hide their insecurities. Their early antagonism makes the ending more poignant. And the scenes with Kristy trying to lose her virginity with Matt were moving because of her honest vulnerability. She was a very good actress and the film is underrated. A sweet, funny movie.
