Nemophila is one of my most-admired bands. I am so glad they came together! Nemophila flower is native to North America, like rock and roll, but popular in Japan - also like rock, as Japan has many excellent rock and metal bands. For example, every spring the Hitachi Seaside Park in Japan turns blue with what Americans call "Baby Blue Eyes" - a Nemophila flower.

Nemophila has some of the most prolific musicians I've heard in one band. Their videos can be fun, but include insane playing. Murata Tamu is amazing. Bassist has the best tone from any other.

I don't think "prolific" means what you think it means. If Nemophila was "the most prolific," that would mean they produced a lot of content in a short amount of time relative at least to the other bands in the Japanese rock and metal scene. While Nemophila certainly has produced a good amount of content, they're not outpacing bands like Unlucky Morpheus or BAND-MAID or pre-haitus LOVEBITES.

@@PaleHorseShabuShabu I know exactly what prolific means. My reply said that Nemophila had the most prolific MUSICIANS. Not amount of releases. I would have said that the band was the most prolific if that was the case. I ask that you read posts thoroughly before making a vain attempt at a correction.

@@alexdeleon7135 . . . then how are they more prolific as musicians than anyone else? Please, do explain.

@@PaleHorseShabuShabu Fair question. I play both piano and guitar since the age of 12. In 1984, I toured as Lita Ford's guitar tech till late 1987. I have also worked for The Plasmatics, Blue Oyster Cult, and Patty Smyth. I had to retire earlier than expected because I have retinitis pigmantosa. I still service guitars, basses, mandolins, and ukulele, here at my shop. As for Nemophila, not only can you hear the prowess of their playing, but Saki has an endorsement deal with Killer Guitars. The brand was started by Akira Takasaki (Loudness) for himself. He was so taken by her playing and writing he awarded her an endorsement no one else has ever had. Tamu not only drums with high precision and tempo, she has not reached her pinnacle; because she improves year after year. Tamu also has a level A endorsement from Hoshino Gakki ( Ibanez/Tama). Haruki plays all keyboard, and guitar also with a endorsement from Hoshino. Hoshino only rewards guitars endorsements to guitarists like Steve Vai, et al. Hizan plays Sadowski basses, and is a session bassist as well. She, in my opinion has the best bass tone I've heard in many years. There is my history, and my expertise in considering the musicianship of Nemophila. I hope this clarified my assessment.

@@alexdeleon7135 Sorry to hear about the retinitis pigmentosa disgnosis. I'm an optometrist and know what that entails. That's rough to say the least. I don't doubt Nemophila's skill, nor am I shrugging off their endorsements and such, but it's hard for me to say any one band or musician is the most this or the best that, especially in the rock and metal scene of Japan. Too often such conversations are really just popularity contests and similar information about other artists can be found if one digs deeply enough. For example, what if I were to say Miyako from LOVEBITES was endorsed by two separate guitar companies, S7G and Dean, and by Orange and that Peavey sent her to another continent so she could be their ambassador musician at NAMM 2020? Then the conversation turns into a game of who can one up each other, and if I wanted one ups, I'd play Super Mario. Regarding the bass tone thing, I'll take MISA from BAND-MAID over anyone anywhere. I've been playing bass since I was 14 or 15 and guitar since I was 18, and I was never satisfied with my bass tone until I first heard MISA and her Orange amps and switched to that brand as well. I love every aspect of MISA's tone from low to high, clean to overdriven. Haraguchi-san has my respect and affection, especially since I believe she wrote my favorite Nemophila song, "Hypnosis," but in terms of tone, I'm not sure if she'd rank in my top five if I were to sit and make a list of Japanese bass guitarists with the best tone. But alas, such things are obviously subjective.
