Nemours Garden and Mansion Tour! Today I'm touring the largest formal French gardens in North American - Nemours Gardens and Mansion. This French inspired mansion and gardens sits on 300 acres in Wilmington Delaware. The mansion is 47,000 square feet with 77 rooms and is the former home of Alfred Dupont.

Very nice walking tour. Great views. Of all the big houses, this estate is probably my favorite. It’s very grand but also comfortable and inviting. The gardens beckon visitors outside to enjoy nature. Perfect!

I have recently found your channel and love it. As I was scrolling through video’s I saw this title and HAD to watch as I had a hunch. I grew up in Delaware and spent a lot of time at the hospital next door to, and created by Alfred DuPont. As a child the mansion and gardens were not at their best and I would often fantasize about what if looked like at it’s full potential. What an inspiration Alfred was to gardeners!!

Hit like before the ad was over. Was this Winterthur.? I'm not too far from Wilmington, have wanted to visit Winterthur forever. Thanks for sharing this beautiful property, nice to see it's not been left to ruin. I watch the channel Bros of decay on here and it's heartbreaking to see the beautiful abandoned places in Europe.

Hi Wende! This Dupont Estate is Nemours. I have been to Winterthur once for the Christmas tour and it was lovely. It has more of a museum feel than a home/estate. I was not able to see the gardens at that time. Hopefully, somewhere here can share with us all about gardens if they have visited. I hope you have a great day!

Thank you for the tour, I loved seeing the interior decoration. Did they explain the use of the clear acrylic chairs - I've never seen that in a historic house before. I love mid century modern as well as older homes so I kinda loved the juxtaposition but as an art history major I'm wondering what the thought process was!
