For anyone wondering, "ni shen ti hao ma" literally translates to "is your body(health) doing good?", and is probably a direct-ish translation of the Japanese "genki desuka?" As far as I know though "ni shen ti hao ma" is not a common greeting the way "genki desuka" is, and you probably wouldn't ask that unless there is some context where it'd be natural for you to be inquisitive of or concerned for the person's health.

@PrimeGamator
@PrimeGamator Жыл бұрын
@@Wazzen563 No, that's not the point of translation. You can translate something while making sure that the way of speech and other intricacies of the person and/or the language itself are left as is, this allows people to learn about the culture, the language and the speaker instead of keeping everyone ignorant to the differences between two languages. Not every translation needs to be ''by the book'' translation where you disregard absolutely EVERYTHING that makes that speech unique just so that it sounds as if a local speaker was talking. This is something very useful for learning. Also the fact that you inmediately call me ''Edgy'' and ''a 14 year-old'' shows that you are the typical braindead internet user who can't have a civilized discussion so i'm ending it at this answer
@Karsh.
@Karsh. Жыл бұрын
@@Wazzen563 Translation is the point of translation. Localization is the point of localization which only also has the objective of translation if you didn't have somebody to do it for you first. And it is sort of a lie, since if you localize something and claim you just "translated" it, somebody might believe you, use your localization as a point of reference for learning the language and then proceed to cause misunderstandings due to ignoring important cultural contexts in the language... as the localizers pretty much always do.
