If you take one copy from the original source material and preserve it in a durable state then you can just make a bunch of copies from that source keeping it at a relatively high quality

Goes away once your realize “End Of Evangelion” was not the canon ending, fans of the show were disappointed about the lighthearted ending and practically forced Hideaki Anno to write a much more dark and shocking ending (End of Evangelion) . If you rewatch and truly understand the instrumentality ending (final episode within the show) you should feel the opposite of existential dread and regain your will to live along with Shinji, for that is what the entire show was originally about.

@@palpatine_killer4605 No, that's just untrue-- and if anything the EoE ending being canon would be better for the idea of optimism, and it actually ends with a more powerful message because of the outcome. Shinji has made his mistakes (big example: initiating 3I), but by rejecting instrumentality it shows he understands that he needs to go on and it proves that he has the will to live and create connections going forward. Not to mention writing off EoE because of the overblown (and untrue) theory that it was made solely because of audience reception and Anno "'had' to right a dark and shocking ending" is foolish and a dumb assertion in itself. The final 2 episodes are particularly the way they are due to budgeting constraints. If anything, EoE is the true vision of the show encapsulated.

@@drawforge9640 this is just typical algorithmic interpolation like the kind you'd get with an old hdtv. actually using real AI in an animation pipeline is a completely different matter. I bet in-betweening will actually be dominated by AI in the future, but with proper direction tools and training data based on quality man-made work. making ai come up with stuff on its own is pointless though. it's only a reflection of how you train it, and what you want it to do.

I’m usually good at coming to my own conclusions on this series (no matter the iteration.) 4.44 had me looking at my fiancé who was lost in the abyss of figuring this out and I just throw my hands up and tell her “ hold on tight bc I don’t know if this plane has wings anymore.” 💀😭😭 I still lived every minute and conside this four part movie series his best work hands down though. An artist that truly said “idgaf about your feelings now watch this!” Respect.

I have heard this opening many times but did not know until recently that it was from Evangelion. When I first started watching Evangelion I immediately became interested in the show. Honestly I am happy to say it is the first Mecha Anime I ever watched. I honestly wish I had watched Mecha anime in the past but I am glad that this one is my first.

Don't worry, other "mecha" anime are absolutely not like this, eva units are more like tanks, they have actually rules, evangelion is been the first show that treated mecha like actual "shi-fi weapon with realistic scientific rules", imagine for example the umbelical cable they need to move, or the eva 00 that need a whole city electricity to shot with a gun At a certain point the Eva units (not all) past from "tank" to something similar to "grotuesce and blasphemous creatures that humans don't know if can be controlled"

This show is like a mushroom trip, starts out great, then gets very strange near the end, and the strangeness comes in waves with breaks of normality in between, only to leave you with an odd depressed/inspirational feeling along with alot of confusion that you need to take time to think about and interpret.

Ive been an Eva fan ever since my nineteen years old self pushed play on this absolute scorcher of an intro. Just pulled me in with instant curiosity and hints of lore then the complete barrage of cuts and word salad that left my head flailing but I was so exhilarated. I watched the intro over and over again and I still somehow never seem to tire of it.

I love how this op (in the series) shows something not seen until like a year later in end of evangelion (the Eva 01 spreading its wings like in the first impact). I really love evangelion because it shows the fragility of the mind of people in general, for example asuka almost starving herself because she couldn’t be enough for the Eva 02 or even misato who resorted to alcoholism and liked a minor. It also shows how people can change is so little time (shinji who went from a normal kid to a traumatised one), fantastic series.
