Nepal: Plot To Oust PM Prachanda; Former PM KP Sharma Oli, Sher Bahadur Deuba Sign Midnight Deal
Political chaos grips Nepal after PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda’s ally and former PM KP Sharma Oli's Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist Leninist or CPN-UML withdrew its support from the government along with Sher Bahadur Deuba’s Nepali Congress. The two party chiefs wrote to the president's office to inform them about their decision. Oli and Deuba decided to form a coalition government and oust Prachanda. Deuba’s party has 89 seats while Oli’s party has 78 seats out of 275 in parliament. The coalition govt was to be ruled reportedly by Oli for 22 months, followed by Deuba. However, Prachanda has refused to resign and said he will seek a vote of confidence, marking his fifth in the current regime. The government requires at least 138 votes to win the vote of trust. Prachanda’s Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre) has 32 seats in the parliament.

The same set of leaders coming to power through backdoor deal making and the failure of the political class to deliver on governance, tackling corruption and improving stagnant economy is causing frustration among Nepalis. This disenchantment is further fuelling the movement to bring back monarchy which was a semblance of political stability and policy continuity.

Nepal needs constitutional monarchy with directly elected prime ministers. King can make good diplomatic and unity of nation where prime minister who is elected by people will look over development of country. This creates stability and strong nation.

India does not interfere in internal affairs of Nepal. Nepalese people and leaders alone will decide what is best for them. May peace and prosperity prevail in Nepal in a congenial atmosphere of trust and brotherhood between its people. In a democracy, winning and losing elections forms the order of the day, nothing very special. Parties strive to fulfill expectations of the public, because ultimately "the public is king" as they say..Indians respect all leaders of Nepal, across the entire spectrum.

As a Nepali 🇳🇵 she would be 1000 times better than any pm in our country right now. Nepal would be prosperous in 1 or 2 decades if she becomes pm of Nepal and if she manages to stay for that long.
